discussed that every group should have were strategist or visionary, classic manager, champion for the customer, and enforcer. Therefore, to have successful group, a group should be composed of mixture of personalities. In addition, Paul Maritz also mentioned the fact that you will not find all four personalities in a single person. The reason this idea resonates me because I have worked in various group projects but, never really thought about personalities of my group members. However, knowing what I know now, this will definitely help me construct better group next time. After reading Paul Martiz take on successful groups, I know that to have successful group, individual must have at least one to two of those personalities. Successful team needs a strategist, who can set goals for where the organization needs to go. Classic manager, who take cares of the organization and manages workflow. Champion for the customer, who examines the product the way customer perceives it. Lastly, enforcer, who recognizes problems and takes necessary actions. Knowing personalities of individual person in your group is very crucial. This allows team members to make valuable contributions.
Now that I know about the four personalities, strategist or visionary, classic manager, champion for the customer, and enforcer, in the future, I will know what to look for when I am organizing groups.
Until now, I never really thought about which categories I belong to. Before reading the interview, I always thought of myself as visionary and champion for the customer but, I am really not. Every project I have done at Drexel University so far; I have demonstrated bad results depending on which roles I was given. However, whenever I have taken on classic manager or enforcer roles, I have demonstrated excellent results and growth. The reason I was good at those because I am great at organizing group goals, managing tasks, and providing support to other team members. In addition, I am also an enforcer. Every projects I have done, I was the person who always making sure group is addressing issues and taking necessary actions. Overall, I have learned a lot from this interview as far as group formation process goes. I know what to look for when developing new
groups.
