For my poster design, I am going to feature the famous designer Paula Scher. Paula is famous for her crazy typography style. She studied at Tyler Art School of art and started her career as a record cover designer at Atlantic and CBS records. Paula has designed logos, brands, posters, fliers, packaging, and publications from many companies and clients. Paula creates imagery that moves. She created advertisements from the public theater that are full of emotion and even screams with wild typography. It is almost as if her designs are like music that one would dance to. Paula has been recognized for her unique design style by presentation of many awards and honors. She has been awarded the Chrysler Award for Innovation in Design. Paula is famous for designing the Citi Bank logo as well as the Tiffany and Co. logo. Paula believes in simplicity. For example, she drew the Citibank logo on a napkin during a meeting. She thought of an umbrella to represent the people who would come to the city and carry umbrellas as they walk to bank. This thought turned into the arch over the Citi in the Citibank logo. Her clients include, among others, Bloomberg, Microsoft, Coca-Cola, Bausch + Lomb,Perry Ellis, the Museum of Modern Art, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Metropolitan Opera, the New York City Ballet, the New York Philharmonic, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, the New 42nd Street, theNew York Botanical Garden, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, the Robin Hood Foundation and The Daily Show With Jon Stewart.
