This is a great example because most of the teenagers know it’s very bad for them, but they still go out anyways. One main reason for this is that they don’t want to be left out of the group. Another reason they might start Smoking is that they didn’t want to look like they were not as “cool” as the other kids, or they may be called names. A real example of this in our modern word is the Baltimore riots over a black man’s death by a spinal injury. For example, there were no riots until a group of protestors came to some riot police, and bagan to throw bricks and sabotage the cities government by stabbing hoses, setting fire to cars, houses and other buildings. These riots were started from a spinal injury in Freddie Gray, whom had died from a spinal injury. Fredericka Gray, the twin sister of Freddie Gray said that, “I think the violence is wrong… I don’t like it all,” she said late Monday, adding she thought her brother also would have disapproved. This violence also caused a varity of police officer injuries also. These riots were not necessary whatsoever, but because of peer pressure in them, they became a very big deal. Some people believe that parents are much more persuasive than friends, saying that parents are around the kids more often, but I can assure you that this is not true. Sure, in the beginning years the parents are a huge influence around the children, but this is not the case with teenagers. A teenager leaves their house for seven to eight hours each day, not including extra-curricular activities such as going to a football games or concerts that they may go to. During these times, Teenagers are around their friends more often than not, and they are influenced greatly upon their friends
