Pencil Sharpening Procedures
Procedure #1

Sharpening pencils

1. The procedures written for the classroom on sharpening pencils is very important to follow because it will help all students be prepared for class first thing in the morning before the class starts their assignments. These procedures on sharpening pencils are also very important because it will not cause any distractions during class. If every time a pencil broke and a student got up to sharpen their pencils it would be noisy and cause students to get very distracted and also it would waste valuable learning time for the students getting up sharpening their pencils and for the students that are distracted.

The procedures written for the classroom on makeup work is very important to follow because students that miss a class due to whatever the excused circumstance might be will need to know exactly what the steps are to make up their missed work. If the classroom did not have set procedures for make up work students would either not have the ability to make up their missed work and therefore get a zero on those missed assignments. Another reason the procedures for make up work are important in the classroom because students need to get the assignments they missed done as soon as possible because if not they will not understand what is being taught in the next class and that will waste valuable learning time for the student because they have fallen behind. Having a master assignment sheet will save time for the student and teacher because the student will know exactly where the teacher keeps the book and look the assignments up

Some of those procedures were having pencil sharpened before our lesson, having material ready along with anchor charts ready and visible in order to save time and have my lesson flow smoothly. I also provided students with time management, for example, I would let them know they had a minute left to finish filling out one of their columns in their KWL chart. I also counted down to grab students attention such as a countdown from 10 seconds or 5 seconds. I also tried using the clap your hands once if you can hear me strategy, but that only seemed to work at the beginning not so much towards the end. Lastly, I also implemented the use of their “color behavior cards” for when students decided not follow directions.…

Following directions is very important for a number of reasons. It makes things easier to do, it guarantees that things are done right, it eliminates confusion, and it saves a lot of time overall. When the instructions of the teacher are followed, things tend to go smoothly and work well. When we, the students, do things the right way and follow directions, we show that we can handle instructions to difficult assignments and that we are cooperative, intelligent, and dependent. Anything can be messed up when the directions are not followed and when respect isn’t given.…

The United States Constitution is the single most important document in American history for a variety of reasons. Not only does it provide the framework for our government to operate, but it also states the rights and liberties each citizen has. The Constitution strikes a unique balance between power at the national level and at the state level, not allowing for the national government to become so strong that it tramples the rights of states or individuals. In a world where we see so much instability in many countries, it makes one really appreciate what we do have even though we might not all agree on the same issues facing us.…
