In this assignment I will be discussing the consideration of Domino’s Pizza entering the market place in the Washington DC’s Georgetown community. I selected this area because it is highly populated with tourists that may want to grab a quick bite to eat while shopping and touring the area and the local upper class working singles that often don’t have time to cook after a long day at work. I have conducted research and gathered information forecasting the demand for this business based on population, household income and other pizza establishments in this area along with the average cost for pizza. Based on the research and demand analysis we should be able to determine if it would be in the best interest of the Domino’s Pizza Company to establish an operation in this community.…

As soon as I was old enough to get a job, I started working. I got my first job in high school at a pizza joint called Rocky's in my hometown of Jeffersonville, Indiana. I started as a dishwasher and worked my way up to making pizzas. That's when I first saw my determination pay off. But I also noticed something else; I noticed there was something local pizza joints could provide that seemed to be missing from national pizza chains – a quality pizza delivered with excellent service right to the customer's door. It was then that I realized my dream was to open my own pizza restaurant.…

This report is written by Knowles. This report is written for project review team of Laurentian Bakeries Inc. This report projects a new expansion strategy for the Winnipeg plant to meet the demand of the new deal.
Founded in 1984 Laurentian Bakeries Inc. operates in the industry of manufacturing a vast variety of frozen baked products within their three operating plants in Montreal, Winnipeg and Toronto. The operating plants produce items such as frozen pizza in Winnipeg, Manitoba, pies in Montreal, Quebec and Cakes in Toronto, Ontario - with each representing 30%, 30% and 40% of the total revenue stream respectively. The buyers for this company include large institutional clients such domino’s pizza, etc. which have a significantly higher level of power whereas the seller of the products consists of several food producers which have a relatively low level of power. With the cost of setting up a plant of this scale being high, substitute products will also remain high in the market causing the overall profit margin to be low. With the company’s ongoing effort for continuous improvement Danielle Knowles (VP of operations) proposed to expand one of the operating plants in Winnipeg - which was based on the opportunity if the company expanded into the U.S. market.…

    franchise

What is a franchise? A franchise is a right granted to an individual or group to market a company's goods or services within a certain territory or location. Franchises are a great avenue to business ownership for those with the entrepreneurial spirit-and they're playing a definitive role in driving the economy upward. If you are thinking about buying into a franchise system, it is important that you understand exactly how franchising works, what fees are involved, and what is expected of you from the franchise company. I would like to franchise Pizza hut because their primary activity is the operation, and servicing of single-purpose Pizza Hut restaurants, which offer various combinations of family dine-in, carryout, and delivery services, primarily serving pizza, pasta, and other Italian-style food items. Pizza hut offers franchises to operate three types of Pizza Hut-branded units at specific locations. The Restaurants are Red-Roof restaurants: pizza and other products approved by pizza hut are sold for dine-in and carryout consumption, and may be delivered for off-premises consumption (a Red Roof restaurant that offers delivery is referred to as an RBD). The second is Delivery restaurants: Approved products are delivered for off-premises consumption. The third is Deliver/Carryout (“Delco” or "Delco-lite") restaurants: Approved Products are sold for carryout and are delivered, all for off-premises consumption. All employees of the Restaurants must complete Pizza Hut’s mandatory “Becoming a Customer Maniac” training. Employees must complete this training within 30 days after being hired or placed in the position. Pizza Hut offers training through a "blended approach", utilizing technology and paper-based training materials. The blended learning will follow a 4-step training model. Periodically, pizza hut’s training Department may also develop and present other programs or…
