One day, Persephone was walking along a river, she saw some clay ike mud. She was messing around with it and started assembling a man out of sheer curiosity. She looked back at the piece of art and started pondering what she had just made. All of the sudden, Zeus came up to Persephone and stared in daze at her sculpture. She asked him to make her sculpture alive, and luckily he granted her wish. All they had to do now was come up a name. Persephone wanted to give it her name since she created it, but Zeus demanded his name since he gave it life. They disputed the name for a while and then they realized that Kronos needed to decide. “… Since there is controversy about his name, let him be homo, since he is made from humus” (Atsma line 8). Persephone was kept from mother, Demeter, because she got kidnapped by Hades and taken to the Underworld. Her mother was very lonely and sad. Demeter then created winter and all the other seasons as well. Overall, Persephone has had a big impact on this world. She had formed the seasons, with help from her mother, and also ran the Underworld. Persephone made the seasons possible and has had an immense influence in Greek Mythology.
