Zeus, ruler of the sky, is the son of Rhea and Cronus. He was the youngest out of the 6 children. His father was threatened by the fact he knew he would be overthrown one day by his son that he tried to swallow him. The thunderbolt is his weapon and symbol. He can use this thunderbolt to throw at anything or anyone. Other symbols for him include the eagle, bull and the oak tree. He later married his sister, Hera. It is said he has the ability to shapeshift, this may be why he has been able to have other children and many affairs with others, easily. He cannot die, either, he is immortal.

Hades
Hades, the lord of the underworld, is also the son of Rhea and Cronus.
His brothers were Zeus and Poseidon. He did not like to leave his home, using the pitchfork as his weapon. He could use this to create earthquakes. He is married to Persephone , who he abducted. It is said she spends 6 months of the year down there with him and the other 6 months in earth.
Hera
Hera, the goddess of marriage and childbirth, is the wife and sister of Zeus. She was a protector of married women. Her sacred animals included the cow and peacock. It is said that the only reason she married her brother was to cover up the shame she had from him raping her. She was always trying to get back at Zeus for what he did, he would always catch her and hurt her so she would not do it again.
Demeter
Demeter, the goddess of corn, grain and the harvest, is the daughter of Rhea and Cronus. It was believed to be she was the one who made the crops grow every year. She was the all around goddess of fertility. The livestock and agricultural products were sacred to her. It's said that during the winter months she has put a curse on the earth so things with not grow, for her daughter who has been taken to the underworld by hades. She would grieve during the absences of her. Bread is her
symbol.
Aphrodite
Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, is the daughter of Zeus and Dione. She is married to Hephaestus, although had an affair with ares. He tried to expose the two for the horrors they had committed towards him, never working out as planned. Her holy tree is the myrtle and her holy birds are the dove, swan and sparrow. She represents sex, love and all around affection.
Apollo
Apollo, the god of light, is the son of Zeus and Leto. He has a twin brother, Artemis. He was typically pictured playing the golden lyre. His most important tasks was to harness the 4 hours charit to move the sun across the sky. It's said he may have also been the god of healing but he could bring forth diseases as well. His holy animal being the dolphin.
Artemis
Artemis, goddess of virginity, the hunt and moon, is the daughter of Zeus and Leto. It is said as soon as she was born she helped her mother give birth to her twin brother, apollo, making her the protector of childbirth and labor. Her symbols included the moon, the arrow and the hunting dog. She protects both the wild and tamed animals. She asked for enter in virginity or chastity, to never give in to seducing men.
Dionysus
Dionysus, god of fertility and wine, is the son of Zeus and Semele. He is the only god that has a mortal parent. It is said Hera had come to her to tell her she would she the god for who he really was so she made zeus grant her one wish, she asked to she him as he really was and he did so. He was able to bring dead people back from the underworld. His symbols include the snake, ivy and grapes.
Ares
Ares, the god of war, is the son of Zeus and Hera. He was the representation of violence and untamed acts occurring in war. It is said he is hated by his parents, Zeus hated him more than anything. He had an affair with his sister Aphrodite. His symbols were the spear and helmet
Athena
.Athena, goddess of wisdom, is the daughter of Zeus. It is said she has no mother, instead she was fully grown and in armour, popped out of Zeus’ forehead. She was Zeus’ favorite child. She would only participate in wars that defended homes of outside enemies. Her symbol is the owl.
Hermes
Hermes, god of commerce, is the son of Zeus and Maia. He was also known as the messenger of the gods. He protected travelers, thieves and athletes. Also served as a guide for the souls in the underworld. It is said after he was born he left his crib and stole apollo's cattle, then went back to his crib and acted innocent. His symbol is the winged helment.
Hephaestus
Hephaestus, god of sculptors and volcanoes, is the son of Zeus and Hera. Although it is said that Hera bore him alone and she threw him from the mountain because he was crippled. He is married to Aphrodite, who has an affair with ares. He had devised a plan to expose and humiliate them, with this plan not working. His symbols are the anvil, hammer and a pair of tongs.
