Perseverance In Football

As I reflect on the past eleven years of my football career, I have learned many important lessons. Besides the fundamentals of football, I have learned many lessons, including teamwork and perseverance. In my years of playing football, from little league, through middle school, and into high school, where I am playing now, teams that play as a cohesive unit always do better than the teams that don’t. Teamwork allows people to form bonds and build relationships. We learn to rely on one another for strength, courage and confidence. Every coach I’ve played under has always preached to us that teamwork is the key to being a winning team. Through my eleven years of playing, coaches have placed me all over the field in almost every position. As I am a team player, I always execute any position I play, to the best of my ability, in order to better my team. In the football atmosphere, you also learn perseverance. As football players, you need to be willing to put in the grueling work that the coaches put all team members through daily. Some of the tasks that my team and I have endured
All of the traits that I have acquired from being a team player have helped me tremendously. For example, in school, if a teacher gives me a hard assignment, I know that if I put in the hard work, that I will have success with it. If problems are hard, even in math, they are something that I have to push through. I can compare these challenges to a third and goal in the last quarter of a football game, with only a few seconds remaining, and all the team needs is a touchdown to win the game. Also, it’s important to remember that just like a team comes together to reach the goal, you don’t have to reach your goals by yourself; your family and friends will work together to help
