Person of the Year
Person of the year
Person of the year is an award that is hold by the United States newsmagazine Time. The award goes to the person that has been the most in the media, and it’s not always a good thing to receive the award, and there are not always good people that get this award. In 1938 Adolf Hitler got this award, and that was because he ran a campaign in Germany and this got allot of attention. I don’t think that his award is a positive thing, it’s just a statement.
This award can also be a good thing. Obama has won this award, just like Martin Luther King Jr.
I think this award can be a good- and a bad thing. The good side of this award is that people that actually do something good can be honored and get the attention that they deserve. The bad thing with this award is that anyone that do something that gets the media attention can get it, even if this person has done something bad or good. In the year 1942 Josef Stalin got the “person of the year” award, if you ask me, I think this i inappropriate, because he has done nothing good and he doesn’t deserve the honor or the attention.
This year The Protester won the award, and I think this an award that they deserve, and why do they deserve this award? They have only fight for there freedom, and all they wanted was to be heard. They just wanted to make the world a better place.
I think that this award should focus more on the good that people do, than focus on who has been the most in there newsmagazine. The fact that Osama Binladen has been discussed to be one of the nominees is provoking. This award should be about the people that actually care, and the people that want to do something good for the world, not the people that destroys

Numerous individuals put their life at danger during the holocaust. A large number of them had done diverse things in various approaches to attempt to help numerous European Jews throughout the holocaust. Out of many other individuals, I think Irene Opdyke merits this Award as she had put her life at risk. Irene was a polish catholic nurse who had joined the underground. The underground was a group or movement organized secretly to work against an extreme regime. The holocaust was a period where a large number of jews were fiercely slaughtered by the nazis amid the World War II. It was a genocide in which roughly 6 million jews were executed by Hitler. I believe Irene should win this award because not only did she risk her life but she had saved 12 jews. Irene and many others had done so much throughout the holocaust but Irene's story had caught my eye the most.…

Although Adolf Hitler was responsible for millions of deaths, he was named Time Magazine’s man of the year in 1938, before he was known as a murderer. Hitler, along with many other famous people, could have been heroic at times, but also cruel and hateful at times. Donald Trump and Abraham Lincoln were popular in both good and bad ways too. Heroes can be seen differently among people, which may cause some people to think that they are more of a villain.…

As shown above there is significant support for why the practice of rewarding all participants should be eliminated. Children in their minds realize when they truly deserve a reward for what they have done. Presenting undeserving children awards will not help them with their future and it negatively impacts those who deserve them by demotivating them to excel above others. Society needs to change this before children believe it is acceptable to always be like everyone…
