Personal Effectiveness Essay
CRUZ, HANNAH JOY M. October 3, 2013
PERSEF1 C45 Ms. Anna Aqui

PERSEF1’s Module 1 was good. We were given the chance to create our own sharing groups with people we are comfortable with, and I am sure that helped in so many ways. I was able to express myself to them freely, because they are my friends, and I know that they will not judge me based on whatever I have to say. Module 1 was all about knowing where you have been, where you are right now, and where you want to go in life. It made me think of what I really want to be, of what I want to accomplish.

We were given an activity wherein we were asked to list down ten songs that depict us, our personality, or what we are going through. I actually had a hard time finding the right songs, especially because we were only asked to list ten. Each song meant a lot to me, each song I listed down helped me through a challenge, a battle I had to face. I have honestly been through a lot, but I believe that my experiences should not hold me back, it should empower me as a person; keep me going. Although I have been through a lot, if there is one experience I would like to relive, it would be my 7th birthday, because then, we were still a happy family, I had my family with me and family friends to keep me company. If I were to choose a song that would describe how I am right now, it would be Ever Enough by A Rocket To The Moon. This song says the words I want to tell my loved ones. I know I have my shortcomings and so do they, but I want to be able to say that I did what I could, and that it is enough for them. We only have one life to live, I would not want to regret anything.

I did not notice when we were asked to do the activities, but looking back, I kept on using the cross. I guess that says a lot, I have my faith in God. I owe everything

Women are known to be great fans of shoes. At last count, Philippine Politician Imelda Marcos had over 2,500 pairs of shoes. Although Mrs. Marcos’ love for shoes is extreme, it is a very good example of how women love their shoes. Since most women have about one percent of the money Mrs. Marcos’ has, they must deal with enjoying their measly fifteen or twenty pair of shoes. One desire a woman of Imelda’s wealth and most other women share is quality. Some shoes are bought at big name stores like Dillard’s, Macy’s or Shoe Warehouse but some women have found that the Payless Shoe Store shoes have lasted just as the long. Over the years, the pumps, boots and sneakers purchased from Payless Shoes has made women just as happy as the major retail stores.…

There are many types of goals. Growing up, I always dreamed of being two things: a mother and a nurse. I am blessed to have two wonderful children ages 14 and 16 and have had the privilege of being able to be a stay-at-home mom during their younger years. Now that they are older and a bit more independent, I have decided to go back to school and fulfill my goal of earning my degree in Nursing. Throughout the years of growing and maturing, I have learned how important it is to have good morals, values, goals, a passion for something, and a good education. I have not only taught my children the importance of these characteristics, but I have also shown them that regardless of one’s age or stage in life, that…

I chose this song primarily for the reason that it adequately expresses how I view romantic relationships and what I would aspire to have in a relationship. This song speaks particularly to being open in communication and feelings within a relationship, as well as being comfortable with yourself. Additionally, it addresses to not be ashamed of your past, and to be able to trust that the other person within your relationship will accept you without judgment. I feel that this song promotes a friendship-based relationship, which is the type of relationship that I prefer.…

It takes an open mindset, heart, & soul to deal with the curve balls that life throws . Today, I don’t mind letting my pain spearhead my passion. Now I don’t mind singing from my pain, or dancing from where it hurts. In the midst of it all, I found pieces of myself that I acquired from hardship. “Who am I?”, I honestly don't know, but over the past few years, who I've become, a strong young lady who still desires to know more of herself one step at a time. Who I am & who I acquire to be is yet to…
