Theme Song By Marvin Sapp Essay

My Theme Song “Never would have made it” by Marvin Sapp is my theme song. If it had not been for the Lord, who was on my side I would have not made it to where I am at today in my life’s journey. Peer pressure, losing friends, and getting closer to God has been a huge portion of my senior year. “Peer pressure is the influence from members of one’s peer group,” according to Merriam Webster’s Dictionary. I would blame others for the decisions and mistakes that I chosen to make. Although I have tried and did certain things that I should have never done, most of the time I was pressured by my peers to do them. I convinced myself that I was not strong enough to say no. After many negative results of trying to do the things everyone else was doing, I not only began to let myself down but I also began to let my parents and my grandma down. I knew it was time for change, so I did exactly that. Like the song says, “I am stronger, I’m wiser, I’m better much better. When I look back over all he brought me through, I realize I made it because I had you to hold on too.” God helped me to stand on my own two feet.
Everyone who is in my life are meant to be in my journey, but not all of them are meant to stay until the end. People that I use to call my friends are no longer my friends. I have always been told that I will be lonely sometimes, but to trust the Lord because he will provide me with enough confront and security to last me a lifetime. I believe that one day God will send me friends that will not only support me, but push me into my destiny, and be that shoulder to lean on when I need one. It is common to lose the ones you call your friends once entering into adulthood. I have been taught that people, places, and things are going to change in life, but we must learn to embrace change, because a part of growing up is growing
