PERSONAL ESSAY
The word essay derives from the French infinitive essayer, to try or to attempt. The Frenchman (Michel de Montaigne 1533–1592) was the first author to describe his work as essays; he used the term to characterize these as attempts to put his thoughts into writing. Francis Bacon's essays, published in book form in 1597, 1612, and 1625, were the first works in English that described themselves as essays. (Jonson, 1609) first used the word essayist in English, according to the Dictionary. An essay is a piece of writing which is often written from an author's personal point of view. Essays can consist of a number of elements, including: literary criticism, political manifestos, learned arguments, observations of daily life, recollections, and reflections of the author. The definition of an essay is vague, overlapping with those of an article and a short story. Almost all modern essays are written in prose, but works in verse have been dubbed essay.
My reason for seeking a college degree is to secure and shape my future as well as my family and we all know that education is important to every one of us. I’ve been in the field of logistics work for several years with no degree, so now I’m trying to have a degree for career advancement, I’ve worked and lots of experience in that field but since I don’t have a degree lots of my coworker with less experience they have a higher position than me and because of that I will pursue to finish my degree and have a good position in work and share my knowledge to them with no hesitation cause I will show and share to them what I have learned in this course. Having a college degree also can open up opportunity to hundred related field with higher level of education and tend to have a better job security in future. It will improve also my confidence in any ways and my social skills how to mingle with other people and I can express my thoughts more clearly. Having a college degree it is more money to get as a salary
