The book “Miracle in the Andes” is a great example of overcoming adversity. In the book, a plane filled with mostly rugby players crashed in the middle of the Andes. There was no help for them. The show is about a girl in high school, named Hannah Baker, who faced many dreadful obstacles in her life. She was bullied mentally, verbally, and also by cyber bullying. She was sexually abused on multiple occasions. These things all happened between the course of two years. Hannah could not overcome her experiences and her mental stability was pushed to the limit. This unfortunately caused her to take her own life. I am not saying she could have prevented being abused and bullied, I am saying there are things she could have done afterwards to get herself out of the storm going on inside her. She never talked to anyone about her experiences. There are centers to help suicide prevention, like teen hotline, that can help you get through tough times. There is therapy to help you get through depression. Hannah did not trust anyone and was pushed to her limit. We need to learn from this that there are things we can do to prevent drastic measures. We as a society need get help and help others to face these terrible experiences.
In conclusion, overcoming adversity is a very important skill everyone should learn. Even the tiniest things like struggling with a school essay can give you stress and anxiety.
