Identify Your Values and Motivations.
The first step in creating a personal mission statement is to understand your values and what motivates you. Focusing on your values and what you are internally motivated to do helps you create a more meaningful mission statement.
Address the following in order to better determine your personal values:
Consider the traits and qualities of people you admire. How would you describe your heroes?
Very independent and hard working
Consider what kind of person you want to be now and in the future. What do you want people to say about you in your obituary, for example?
A very hard working
Always caring for others
Consider the activities you currently pursue. What do you currently find value in doing?
Working spending time with family and being home enjoying life
To examine what motivates you, address the following:
Consider what you are internally (or intrinsically) motivated to do. What do you feel compelled to do simply because you love to do it?
I feel like I really need to go to school and better my selfso that my son will have a good life and also know the value of going to college.

Identify Your Core Strengths.
The next step in creating a personal mission statement is to identify your core strengths. To examine your core strengths, address the following questions:
What do you excel at? Want for knowledge. Caring for people
What holds your interest? son husband law
What traits and qualities do you possess that will help you to accomplish your goals?
Hard working strong willed
What strengths do you wish to nurture and grow? Patience and serenity
Step 3
Identify Your Goals.
Set goals for yourself. Start by setting a goal to be completed by the time of your graduation. Then set a goal for yourself a few years after you graduate. Consider these questions:
What field or industry would you like to be in? Doing what?

Where and in what environment would you like to
