My rookie season started out well, I was named starter for a number of times and I consistently delivered good outcomes. Aside from pitching, my defence was top notch as well but my batting was poor. There are only two outcomes when I get to the plate, a walk or a strikeout. I got only one double (and nothing better) for the entire season. After one season, my mother moved from White Rock back to Taiwan because she was pregnant. After getting to know my new teammates in Taiwan (and winning top infielder award) I had to move to Shanghai, China because of family business. I had no time to play baseball because of the “Chinese Style Education”.
I moved back to Canada at Grade 10 and joined the Richmond Chuckers Gold AA team. Although we were not the best team, we had a solid, all round roster. I was playing right field and batting bottom of the order. I contributed to the title our team won by my great defence and my occasional hit. The trophy was important for me because it is the only championship I won. Although I am not anywhere close to being a MLB player, my love for baseball eventually lead to the economics of baseball.
