Personal Narrative: Bombing The Western World
Bang! There is no escape from the explosion. How do the leaders of the western world, who seem to have a brain the size of a pea, think that the right way to stop to stop those atrocious acts happening outside is by bombing our country to pieces; anyway thinking about that right now won’t help. I need to get out. I need to stop cowering in the corner of what used to look like a normal teenage girls bedroom; I can still see half a supernatural poster on the wall but that is all that is left. I need to stand up and run. I need to go.The moment I stand up, The standard stench of blood penetrates my nostrils. The furthest I get is under the doorway of the room that used to be my room. I hear the last bang the loudest bang. Everything that used

Murrah building collapse. “Carl Spengler [was] a third-year resident in emergency medicine, Spengler was just blocks from the Murrah Building on the morning of the bombing, ‘We went to breakfast, and we were just sitting there talking, and all of the sudden it felt like the building about got knocked over. A man, seconds after the bombing went off, opened the door and said, ‘I think the Federal Building just collapsed. ‘So i got up, and by the time I got to the door, debris was landing in the street. So we drove four, five, six blocks, but we couldn’t go any farther because there was so much debris in the street. I was standing looking half of this building gone, and I kept thinking I was going to see hundreds of people in the building screaming and hollering. Except for one car alarm going off, and the fire burning in the parking lot next to it, you could hear the birds singing. It was absolutely that quiet’ “ (McRoberts). Without a doubt McVeigh made people think on impact. When the building exploded many people did not think, they decided to be courteous and pull people out and try to save the living before they died. McVeigh impacted many people, some of those people were not in the building when it collapsed, but they were in it after. “Don Hull [who] has spent 14 years a hostage negotiator with the Oklahoma City Police Department. But on the morning of the Murrah Building, Hull found himself performing and entirely different task: trying to find life in the rubble. ‘You’d be going along, and then you’d see a body part kind of sticking out of a pile of stuff. You’d dig that person out. They weren’t alive you’d feel this dripping, like water was dripping on you but it wasn’t water. My worst nightmare to this day: my daughter was 3 at the time, and I remember going through the rubble and I found a hand. Just a hand. And it was- it fit in the palm of my…

From the Trojan horse to the Atomic Bomb, strategies and motivations during warfare have come under close scrutiny from historians and observers alike. The British strategy of “area bombing” during the Second World War is one of such controversies with differing viewpoints. Historians such as Denis Richards, author of The Hardest Victory, take the stance that “area bombing” was a necessary strategy to help the war effort while other historians such as Max Hastings, author of Bomber Command, see this strategy as an atrocity toward humanity. In war, the overall motivation of a strategy must be taken into consideration when determining whether or not an ethical boundary has been crossed. Did the British cross a moral boundary in their bombing campaigns between…

The beast named Al Qaeda, had yet to reach out and claim the second tower. My thoughts rose from the ashes left behind and I knew I had to get out. This wasn’t even my time. I was not meant to be here. Not now, not this time, not this place. Somewhere in the world I was a baby; I was two years old in 2001. My mom would be helping me celebrate my birthday. Today was my birthday, September 11th. I had completely forgotten all about birthdays. They were never celebrated at my house ever since my mother cried when I turned five. I’m eighteen today in my normal time. Thinking about my age made me feel old. I feel old. I stifle my laughter as I remember where I am. I’m going to die. No, no I’m not. I’m going to leave right now. There is still about fifteen minutes before this tower is hit.…

In the article, “The Day the Bomb Went Off,” Knoll and Postol argue nuclear bombs are catastrophic. The event of a nuclear attack would send humans back to the stone age, and put a halt on any technological advances. Furthermore, the effects of radiation would harm the population within a broad radius of a nuclear explosion. Readers may wonder what America would do under nuclear attack, and draw the conclusion nuclear bombs would destroy everything our society has accomplished.…

This bombing is what pushed Smith over the edge and threw himself deeper into the civil rights movement. Smith founded the Nashville Christian Leadership Council and served as president until 1963. This organization sponsored the nonviolent role in desegregating Nashville's lunch counters, hotels, and theaters. Within this group; Smith preached the principles of non-violence to it's members. He strongly believed in putting the fight for civil rights out in the public eye instead of through the court systems. Smith was driven to spread the word about non-violence so he created the series of workshops that later gave him his fame. Smith and his friend James Lawson held these workshops together where they taught the average citizen the key principles…

I was too inexperienced for the First War. I’m in the trenches between the borders of France and Germany. There were many soldiers lying dead on there. For my friend's birthday, we went to sociology. He picked me up from my house, with his two other friends carter and Geo. Edens dad dropped us off and we started. The mission we were doing was the Cuban missile crisis. We had to get the launch codes before the commander got back in 1 hour. Two of the coolest parts where a telephone that we had to take apart and a fake bookshelf. The hardest part was the locks. It was agonizing looking at the timer every few seconds. We didn't really get started until about halfway in. Even them, we were screaming and yelling at each other. Eventually, after we had used all our hints and we had about 10 seconds left, we got out. If you get out you get a bracelet saying which one you bet. It was my second time,…

Pow! Right smack in my forehead crushing my skull. The metal baseball bat knocked in my skull. It was a warm sunny day in the middle of the summer. Joey, my brother, was hitting tennis balls over my house. Little 10 year old me was playing in the yard and my brother purposely pushed me far away so he wouldn’t hit me. Oh how I was a stupid little kid. I was intrigued by what he was doing so I started wandering over to like how not knowing little kids do. As I approached my brother he was so focused on himself that he did not see me. When I finally reached him he had just set up to hit another ball. He hits the ball, but on his back rotation, the bat makes contact with my head. I fell hard on the pavement. Before I went unconscious I heard my…

Hoaxes have proven to be unquestionably persuasive throughout the years as in War of the Worlds, 2012 Mayan Predictions, possible nuclear war, and Christian predictions about the deadline of the world. Hoaxes have become genuinely persuasive due to the unknown origins and terrors that individuals may have hidden deep in our minds. For example, there have been numerous stories passed around through culture to as how the world might end, but humanity has no clue about when or how this would happen. Civilization just bypasses the thought for the reason that whatever happens is inevitable. It is important that we realize that a global disaster can happen at any minute and each individual has to prepare.…
