My Grandfather Eugeino Saviglio went back to Italy to find a wife. He fell in love with a girl named Maria Pia my grandmother. Just to get her attention he went to her house everyday and when he was at work he sent her love letters. After they got married he took her to America Brooklyn, New york.
My mother Maria Saviglio was a tomboy at first , but had a lot of friend and she loved Brooklyn so much I guess you can call her brooklyn’s girl. She had an older sister and a younger brother. Ida and Gino Ida loved to sing and Gino loved to play the guitar . While my Grandfather was making shoes at the shop my Grandmother would take the children out , cook, and clean for everybody and sometimes for their friends or family if there
was an emergency. My grandfather was planning to go back to Italy. My Mom , aunt, and my uncle would go to a school called Saint Mary’s a catholic school .
When he had enough money he decided to tell his family the”great” news. The whole family was very unhappy they all hated the idea of leaving America. Would brooklyns girl be Italys girl ? Everyone said goodbye and packed up for their new home and didn’t see their family until my mom was an adult herself . They all were happy in their new home.
Ida would always say “ I wish we were back in America” since her heart was there. Later in my moms late 20’s she had a finace and was fine , but she knew she could go back to America and stay with our uncle named zio alfonso . She told her parents that she wanted to go back they agreed . She then broke up with her finace and moved to Pennslvania and met a man named Daryn Fredericks . Now she has children of her own Melania , David , and a girl named julia .
In this lesson we learned that home is where you want it to be and home is where your heart is.
