I quickly followed in pursuit, hoping not to lose her. She turned the corner of the first block and checked her phone. I was closing in behind her as she reached the crosswalk. She started to cross, of course I followed. After we crossed the street, she walked for awhile, then she sat down on a communal bench. “May I sit here?” I asked. “Of course,” she replied. A minute or two later, she asked “You look familiar, do I know you?” I stated who I was. Everything clicked after that. We started talking about the old days when nothing really matters.
