It has taught me to set goals and work towards them as well as pursue my dreams. My determination has grown tremendously due to the fact that I know I’m capable of anything I set my mind to and that with enough effort and work I can reach and do anything. From stepping on that ice for the first time and trying something different and new that none of my friends had done changed my life. Without ice hockey I wouldn’t have had the desire to apply for a high school that will push me out of my comfort zone and greatly improve my education due to the fact that I want to play hockey there. Branching out from my friend group that I have been with since kindergarten will be a huge jump for me but through all of the experiences I have gathered through hockey I am confident I am prepared and that it is the best option for myself and my education. Lastly I have learned that time is precious. Through the long nights of hockey and the long weekend tournaments I have acquired a great skill of time management. Sticking to a routine schedule has been one of the most useful tools I have ever crossed over. Everyday following the same schedule has gotten me into a groove that has proved to be beneficial.
