To me however it's been an important part of my life. Weather it be filling out forms or just living. Throughout elementary school I grew up in an all white town. The only diversity I had was when I visited my grandparents in Vietnam. In both places I’ve never really have felt like I fit in. Although I never had an issue with race throughout elementary school, middle school was when I started to see differences between me and other kids. At school people would identify me as asian and when I was younger I would always proudly tell people I was Vietnamese as I got older I found that pride to diminish.
