This is what decides the winner at the end of the game. In order to score a goal, you must hit the ball into the opponent’s goal with your foot, head, or other body parts. The only exception to that is you may not use anything from your elbow down to your fingertips or it is a penalty. Bottom line, if that ball goes in, even by accident, it’s a goal. And here is yet another of the more important aspects of the game, which is the rules. When it comes to the rules of soccer, the game is not that complicated. Some of the penalties consist of The Hand Ball, which is when you control the ball with your elbow down to your hand. Another penalty is Offsides. Offsides is when a player on one team has the ball, and another player from that same team is behind the opponent’s defense and the player with the ball passes to the player behind the defense. On the offensive side, there are two strikers/forwards. The strikers are the players that primarily stay on the opponent’s side of the field and are normally the players who shoot. In the middle of the field are the midfielders. The midfielders run up and down the field and don’t have a primary spot to stay in. there is left mid, who stays on the left, right mid, who stays on the right, and finally, center mid, who stays in the center of the field. Defenders stay back primarily on their own side of the field and try to prevent goals. And finally……. THE GOALIE! The goalie stays in his/her own net and is allowed to use his/her hand to prevent the ball from going into the
