Personal Narrative: Every Villain Is Lying
The Ladder When I was walking to my bus stop to go to school I was half asleep. I was a ways away from the bus stop when I saw a boy that looked like he was a little bigger than me. I never saw this boy before, maybe he was a new student at my school. When I was approaching the boy he looked like he was signaling like he wanted me to follow him. I always had a curious bone in my body so I thought why not, my like is pretty boring right now. The boy starting going into an alley that I have never been into. When I turned the corner it seemed like the boy disappeared. There was just a piece of paper on the floor with a puzzle piece on it. It said E.V.I. L. and under that t said Every Villain Is Lying. At the bottom of the puzzle piece said my name, Josh McDonough. I took a step into the alley and picked up the note. I heard footsteps in the distance. I decided to follow the noise thinking it was the boy. My face hit something like an invisible glass. Red pixels formed a keyboard and above it asked for my name. I typed my name and the pixels when away and so did the invisible glass. Curiosity and …show more content…

I stood there frozen, shocked, not knowing what to do. I heard the screams of the boys yelling for me. Then they all when away just like that. I was dead meat and I knew it. The Reapers scared the living daylights out of me. How was I supposed to survive a night will seven of them? I go to find somewhere to hide, and fast. Where was I gonna go, but what if I ran right into the home of the seven Reapers. I looked around and there was a hole on the top of the side of the Level. Hopefully, I could fit in there. I see myself laying down and looking at the sky. It looked like I was in heaven. When I got up I saw a house. I went inside and saw a paper. It said that my mission is to kill the Ender Dragon. I didn't know a thing about Ender Dragon. I searched the house and looked at the world. the world was made up of blocks. Not one block or two blocks. Thousands of them. Haphazardly I realized that I was in mine-craft. A game that I used to play this game when I was seven years old. I thought that it was only a dream, so I tried to wake myself up. But I couldn't. I still thought that it was a dream and went with it. Near me was a waterfall and some chickens. I went in my house. There was a chest, laying there, and I opened the chest. When I opened…

As I walked closer to the entrance, my heart began pounding harder and harder. I could feel the sweat in my hands, as the time closer. Walking into the first room, I was grabbing my dad’s hand. I could feel my hands sweating almost like Niagara Falls. I tried to keep my eyes closed, but it would just make it worst. I slowly began to open them, and the creepy actors were everywhere. They yelled, and ran, all over the place. My fear just got worst.…

Startled, you get woken up by the police officers barging into your room, you notice the door has been kicked down and you are being yanked by the limbs. Unaware of why this is happening you start to scream and kick at the officers. Next thing you know you get hit in the side of the head and you black out. What feels like days later, you awaken in a dark and empty room. At least that's what you believe. Out of thin air you hear a chuckle come from the corner of the room. Yelling hello you hope for a voice that can answer all the questions you've collected in your head. This mysterious chuckle begins stepping forward, starting to become a dark shadow now in the middle of the room. You begin asking him what's happening and why you are here.…

After several minutes of standing there alone waiting for my bus, I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. Naturally I pulled my phone out to look at whatever notification it could have been and to check the bus schedule. As I did this, I saw the outline of a man who appeared to almost walk past me before doing a quick turn to my front right side. Letting him take his position I made my second mistake. I quickly put away my phone into my pocket and the man began to speak. "Hey man I really need some help I have been sleeping here for a few weeks now and I really need the money to get on the train you think you could help me out with twenty bucks?" The man was dirty and made a big deal about how his shoes were all worn down but in reality they looked fine. "I would love to help but I don't carry cash on me sorry man" I said trying to dismiss the situation and get on with my day. I had other things to worry about like this test and whether or not I was going to pass. Or so I thought. The man tattoo on his face or possibly a bruise hell it could even have been dust slowly began to reach and grasp at his front pockets of his pants and then slid his hand into his hoodie and pointed something at me. "You don't…

Not knowing where to go. But feeling the building rumble and shake in my fear of claustrophobia. I remember hearing “GET DOWN! RUN!” Making a quick mover I jumped forward and make a break for the fire exit, it was crowded with men and women crying in pain, I joined them. The only thing I could think about is getting out of this place and Michael. I kept on stumbling down the steps holding on to people on my way down. Feeling a terrible pain in my right thigh, I peered down and saw a big gash of blood and a clear shard. I guess I couldn’t feel it because of all the adrenaline. I didn’t have time for this, only for Michael and escaping. From above a sound of falling concrete and metal bending brought an increase of screams. Maybe that woman from earlier was caught up there, so much for being important. I finally found a clearing of light from the exit. Flooding people out of the exit seemed like a liquid rushing out of a beer bottle. Finally, I made it outside but my matters have only gotten worse, the building was collapsing and I’m under everything. A lady grabbed me from the back and pulled me hard, making me drop down. Dodging a cinderblock, thanking her I ran the opposite way of the building and looking for the closest cover. Glancing back I saw people getting crushed from the construction above. There was no time to think, I had to go. Finding a distant building I took cover with the rest of the citizens praying for their life. “What’s happening?” I hollered. An old man next to me said “an attack.” My eyes widened as I watched the building fully collapse upon hundreds and hundreds of innocent people. “Who would’ve done this?” I asked terrified. The man ignored me as he watched the people were panicking. He might be panicking, but not showing his emotion. I calmed down my breathing and took a drink from a kind man giving out bottles from the café, also bandaging my wound keeping…

I was sitting at the computer desk in the upstairs loft, I had just finished my homework and began to check my phone, when I hear this loud thunder and lightening like sound and my house had shook like there was an earthquake. I was very confused and hadn’t realized what had happened, and as I look down all I can see is white insulation all over my desk and in my mouth. I could my brother Corey faintly yelling my name, “SARA SARA SARA?! ARE YOU OKAY?!”. I couldn’t respond I was in such a shock but I eventually responded with “Yes, I’m okay”. I stood up out of my chair and turned around to see this giant hole in the roof of my house.…

This all started when I went to sleep in my home in New York. I had a dad, my mom had disappeared when I was five. Life was great until I turned 15. This is the year when my worst nightmare began. I was kidnapped. I awoke in a dark, dismal, and cold room. At first I believed it was my room, but I quickly realized that I was on a cold cement floor. Somehow, I found my way to a light switch, and the room quickly brightened. I was startled to find I was in a warehouse with a single desk in the middle of the huge room. The desk had a typical office phone and as soon as I moved toward it, it rang. I quickly answered, and was startled to hear a muffled robotic voice. It said “Hello Michael,…

It is 5 AM in the morning, my room was just plain dark as if there was no existence. I noticed my door open with a loud *Squeeeeak*, a quick hand motion I saw, almost looked it something of the speed of light. My owl next to my door was gone, I screamed out loud scared, yelling “WHOS THERE?” no one replied but a very loud *Screeeeetch*. There was someone moving down the staircase, the sounds it made spooked me. I thought to myself “Who would steal a stuffed owl?” could it be my brother or sister? I quickly just closed my door, locked it, and turned on my lights. I saw my baseball bat under all my stuffed animals, while grabbing it I grabbed my stuffed bird. Unlocking my door and going in the hall way that’s almost just like a void, seeing a…

It was one day after school and I was strolling towards the apartment building where I live. Once I opened the front door, I noticed some construction workers inside the building by the elevator. As I walked inside, the portion of the building the workers were examining, was the inside of the elevator. They were examining the floor very cautiously, looking at the floor and taking notes. I just walked past them, it probably wasn’t important anyway.…

The harsh reality of life is that there's always going to be a form of control and manipulation is a big part of it. As human beings, we can be very egotistic and put our wants and needs before anything else. Our selfish desires gave us some insight on the tactics we used to compel others into helping us fulfill it. In the form of manipulation, it seems as life is a show, while some of us play the role of a puppet master. This would include pulling all the strings to put on a show and using people we encounter in order to achieve a goal to benefit ourselves. When it comes to manipulation, it is a powerful tool to influence the thoughts, feelings, and action of an individual.…

I woke up with a start my heart racing. The dream slowly left my mind, too quick for me to see what it was about. After laying there for about a minute I sat up slowly and stretched my arms over my head until I heard a giant pop. Satisfied I rubbed the crust from my eyes and yawned a giant O. I threw off the covers and kicked my legs off to the side of the bed. I felt my toes run through the white carpet, smiling at how soft it was. I padded lightly through the hallway opening the door. I glanced at the clock on the wall; the time read 5:30 am. I did a double take 5:30?! It’s a Saturday! I was walking back to my room but stopped to look out the window in my living room. It was still a dark hue of black outside(delete) and a misty fog rolled around outside. It was so thick I couldn't see the houses across the street. The light post on the median that was in the middle of the street shined brightly, helping me see better. As I looked closely at the fog a shadowy figure ran out of the fog towards my house. My heart was pounding inside my chest. As I slowly backed away from the window, the figure stopped and turned its head and looked directly into my eyes. Its red eyes bore into my soul and it opened…

It was the 7th-grade year and everyone knew me well. One day, when I came home from school, there was no one there. Creek. Crack. Squeak. Squeak. I heard many small noises in my house. Then as I looked around, all my windows were wide open. There was a huge wind blowing through the air, harder than a hurricane. It felt like an air conditioner in the hot sweaty summer. Then suddenly, “ding, ding, ding!” My phone notification went off. The notification came from a social media app called Kik. The notification came from a new person who I had not heard of. His name was Boshmob. He had the intimidation of a detective and the creepiness of a daddy long leg spider.…

The path we walked on would take us past the park and end at the pub above called The Bull. We chose this path because it would be the shorter walk to the pub. We were feeling bored and went out for a drink or two. A walk that led us into the forest. As we walked past the park a group of teenage youths came jumping out from behind of some bushes and trees. My heart was in my throat and I felt Scott give a scared jump. "Oi, what the hell do you think you're doing!" Shouted Scott and swore at them. They laughed and went to find their gang. My face was still a look of terror and when Scott turned to see if I was all right, tan the youths swore at him back and were just standing there, Scott started chasing them. Then an older man appeared from the forest and pushed Scott so hard that sent him stumbling backwards, over a log into a big pile of leaves from a nearby tree. I was scared and I didn't know what to do so I ran thought the forest where I hid hoping to phone the police for help, the battery was dead, I run and hid.…

Attention Getter: It's midnight and your car broke down right outside of town. Your cell phone is out of range and you have to get home. You grab a flashlight from the trunk and decide to walk to the nearest gas station just a couple miles down the road. You take a look around and you are frightened by what you just seen. Were your eyes deceiving you or did you just see what appeared to be a light; it was just a quick flicker but you saw something. You begin to pick up the pace a little and then you hear the sound no one alone on a dark road wants to hear...footsteps! You start to run. The unseen person just feet behind you does the same.
