Personal Narrative: Grayson's Tragic Death

Grayson’s Tragic Death Have you ever met somebody who was so nice you couldn’t help but try and find something wrong with them subconsciously, someone who could make you feel better with a simple smile? To me that was Grayson. I was a shy awkward seventh grader and immediately after loading the van up for camp, Grayson took me under her wing. Her and her boyfriend Chad were high school seniors going of to Clemson in the fall, and I remember all I wanted was for them to like me. Throughout the next week of camp, I really got to know Grayson. That week she convinced me I needed to start coming to Youth group more often, she told me “It is fun, and in high school it is a great thing to be involved in.” After that I went every Sunday, if nothing else but to hang out with the older kids. Grayson left for college in the fall and by then I had friends my own age I missed her and was so thankful she got me involved. She occasionally she would come back to visit and even make an appearance in the youth room to say hey. About three weeks before Christmas my Mom sat me down and told me something that would forever change the course of my life, at least it has so far. She said to me with tears filling her eyes, I have some awful news that Woody (my youth pastor) called and told me. Grayson was in an accident on her way back to Clemson
Unfortunately, that’s not the case,1 in 7 teenagers don’t wear there seatbelts every trip. Most of you can probably think back to a time when you double buckled or squeezed a forth person in the second row of the car, or just didn’t feel like wearing it, I know I can. Putting on your seatbelt is such a simple solution to a problem that effects hundreds of people everyday. So next time you get in a car with your friends, think about it, think about the risk you are taking, is it
