living in Washington, DC. After growing up a bit I have noticed how much I love and appreciate
my home city. A big part of growing up in DC is how diverse the city is. A lot of people grow up
used to always seeing people of one race/ethnicity. But growing up with diversity added a lot to
my character. This is because everybody, everywhere is different except for the huge number of
places in the United States where there is a great lack of culture and diversity. The common
term for these places is “the suburbs.” Now I have nothing against the suburbs, because they

My high school is very different from my middle school because it is a private Catholic school.
Everything was different, from the many spoiled kids, to the sports, to the teachers. Even
though at first I hated my high school because of all the differences, I learned to love my new
school. This love was found through sports. My high school, St. John’s College High School, is a
huge sports school. To all of the students our Athletic Director was much more feared and
respected than the rest of the staff and administration. Most of my friends played sports in high
school and it was a good fit for me. I began playing Rugby during my Freshman year, but did not
begin to take it seriously until my sophomore year. Through rugby, I found my fit in St. John’s. I
made lots of friends that I am still close to.
I then became more comfortable in the classroom and began to focus more in class. Once I
started focusing more in class I began to get better grades, which had started slipping in the 8 th
grade. Throughout my 4 years of at St. John’s I had a few teachers I liked and a few that I did
