I pull up to the shopping center, I immediately spot Will and Zach, sitting on the curb and smoking a cigarette. I park my car and go to greet them. We say our hellos and go into the Starbucks bathroom to distribute the acid amongst ourselves. I am handed a little piece of tin foil and am told there are 6 tabs inside for me. I slip the 6 small, squares pieces of paper onto my tongue and from then, I knew that it was only a matter of time before my friends and I were tripping. LSD is a very delicate substance, and it is commonly believed to be easily damaged by prolonged exposure to light. People often store their acid in dark containers or tin foil because they believe it protects the acid and helps it maintain potency. At the time the tab(s) touch your tongue, LSD is being absorbed and begins to stimulate serotonin receptors. In 30 minutes to an hour, we will be feeling the effects. A few minutes go by and we head to the gazebo to hang out. The effects of the L are slowly becoming apparent, as the details of the trees and the bushes, and even the details in the buildings become more pronounced. We decide to drive home. LSD takes a while after being absorbed to begin to work.
It is also not recommended to drive while under the influence of a heavy dose of any drug, especially psychedelics (or any hallucinogen for that …show more content…
matter). Driving home is a challenge because everything is so beautiful, and when we close our eyes, flashes of color burst and it is really cool.
Thankfully, we make it unharmed though. Upon arrival, Will and Zach begin to argue over who knows what. It is escalating and my family is beginning to notice. I go to calm them down, but it’s very hard when the world is changing colors and everything is so beautiful. LSD enhances the senses, especially sight. Being that there is a lot of LSD coursing through my two friends and I, “enhanced senses” is an understatement. The argument between my two friends has escalated beyond my control. Will has had enough of Zach and begins to walk down the street. He disappears and will not return any of my phone calls. At this point, I know I will be busted so Zach and I get in my car and take off before the cops come. About an hour later, I get a phone call from my mom, asking where I am and if I am tripping on acid. I laugh at her and say no. She then tells me that Will is in the hospital because he tried to kill himself after the argument went bad. He was found lying face down in the middle of the highway and tried to fight the police that went to get
him. Zach is just laughing at this and I make him get out of my car and leave him on the side of the road. I drive home and am locked in a room by my mother for what seemed like days. She then brought me a pack of cigarettes and talked to me about what happened. The next day comes around and Will is still in the hospital and the cops are asking all kinds of questions. My instinct tells me to run or to not tell these cops a single thing but I do it for Will. I told them everything that happened. Will got 1 year of probation and Zach was arrested. I got away with no charges for telling the truth.
