Personal Narrative: My Definition Of Hero

My definition of hero is someone in which people can look up to and inspire to gather some of that hero’s qualities. The hero in my life would be by mother. She had to do many difficult things so that her children were able to have a better future and more opportunities than she did. When she was a child she had to drop out of sixth grade and she had to also get use to the new society that she was placed in after she got married to my dad. When she had all of her children the first thing that she wanted all them to accomplish was receiving a good education. She knew the importance of an education because she is still getting affected by the side effects of not having an education. She works in a school cafeteria in an elementary school
getting paid minimal wage. She has described her working environment to me, stating that there is so many of them working in one place that it is difficult to avoid bumping into an oven. It is an occasional thing for her to home with burns in her arms and hands. She tells not just me but to all my sisters that the reason why she wants us to get an education is so that we won’t have to work in a job that we do not enjoy and that is a manual labor. Education has always been an important thing in our household and my mom is always pushing us to strive for greatness. She knows that an education will opening so many doors to us and will improve our future greatly. I have also grown to admire her patience, her understanding, and the way she drops everything to listen to me and to be by my side. She is one of the most persistent people I know and I value her skills more now that I know how much they have affected me positively. She has made me belief that with hard work, persistence and determination I can accomplish anything.
