Becca’s tone of voice matched me as a client. Her voice was calm and soothing. When the conversation transitioned to more serious matters, her tone got softer and changed when asking questions. She was very clear. She did use “umm”, but it was not distracting from her line of questioning.

Even when I mentioned the eating and not sleeping and constantly being ill, a lot of time was spent focused on the relationship with my boyfriend. I used his control problems to perpetuate the binging and purging, but I used him being busy as an excuse for his controlling behavior and for me not having to address the control issues and my own issues.
I tried to be clear that I did not want him in the process of therapy. As someone presenting symptomology of bulimia nervosa, I do not know if I would have suggested starting a gym routine with him, especially because of his control issues. If we could steer clear of the boyfriend, I think a lot of progress can be made with Becca with the bulimia.
There were some questions and statements Becca made that I really appreciated as a client. She asked what I thought my strengths were and if there was anything I valued about myself. I liked that this made me consider positive attributes that I may have, even if I might have not fully seen them at the time, but it gave it potential. She also was very encouraging when she reflected on my accomplishments with school and recognized my intelligence. When she recognized the difficulty of coming into therapy and discussing these issues, it made me feel comfortable as a client. She also asked and tried to clarify what I wanted out of therapy to make sure she was getting a full picture of what I wanted and why I was
