Personal Narrative: My Four Years As A Reconnaissance Marine

Four years as a Reconnaissance Marine taught me professional pride, integrity, team work and self-determination. I made many lifelong friends in the Corps and learned many lifelong lessons from my mistakes. The Marine Corps taught me to always give all that I had and that the most important thing is to keep pushing forward. Knowing that it is okay to make mistakes as long as we take responsibility and adapt for the future has helped me tremendously both personally and professionally.
Mechanical Engineering is a demanding degree and asks the most of me and my family every day. My roles within a Recon team taught me time management, organization and attention to detail. Because of this, I have been able to perform in school at a very high level.
