Some advantages of going to these schools are that they have sport teams and they have very little English requirements, and they have great reputations. Disadvantages of going to the schools is that they are large schools and does not give much help if you are in need of it, also they are both very expensive over 30 thousand a year. At Florida State over 60% of your courses you take are related to engineering ranging from thermodynamics and thermo fluids to learning the basics of engineering. You also are suggested to take physics along with calculus III. Marquette university is about the same thing they want you to take 70% engineer related course but with the courses they want you to take is a range of materials how stuff works type of engineering. They also want you to take a philosophy course and a lot more electives.…

Having grown up in a household with a „hands-on‟ father, I became interested in the technological aspects of life from a young age. My passion for technology was the deciding factor in choosing a technical high school over an academic high school. I completed grade 12 in Rhodesfield High School with Mechanical Engineering as technical subject. My secondary education was complemented in 2006 with a National Diploma in Mechatronic Engineering from Tshwane University of Technology. In 2011, I realised that I needed to expand my knowledge in the technical environment to stay competitive, and thus enrolled for a part time Bachelor of Technology degree in…

Many people in my life have also suggested that I pursue engineering with my good math and science skills. Pursuing engineering was without a doubt the easiest and hardest decision I have ever made. This will be my third year at Missouri University of Science and Technology and I can still safely say this is the right fit for my personal needs for self-growth. I am always challenged and required to think in a vastly different way than I have ever been used to. My intended major now was mechanical engineering which is still very interesting to me, but I discovered the many intricacies of civil engineering and decided that I need to pursue it with much haste and tenacity. Civil engineers are a vital part to society as they design so many various structures like roads building plans and even recreational areas. Now, the only way to become an official civil engineer is through formal education. Through this university, my future will be vastly changed for the better by adding significant value to it. The challenges I face every day at Missouri S&T will most certainly be worth it in the end, for I know what I want and need in my life when I become a civil…
