Personal Narrative: My Grandpa In Orlando, Florida
Orlando, Florida is warm and sunny with lots of war and everyone is a super soldier.Just kidding it’s just a hook now read! Over my spring break I sped so fast I could feel the turbulence to disney world and saw my grandpa in Orlando, Florida. At disney world we costly went to three of their parks Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios. Magic Kingdom was my favorite (mostly because a lot of exciting rides), but I adored them all.

When we shot over to my grandpa. My grandpa owns a horse business. So he let us ride huge horses in the ocean, But it didn’t smell salty more like wet horses and poop (mine pooped). When we were finished with that wet joy ride he made us leap over for a carriage ride. Both were very fun and interesting, and it was my favorite part of the entire trip.

I got two new video games. They’re Star Wars Battlefront (think battlefield with star wars). The other was rocket league which is soccer but the players are cars (hopefully drones or rc cars because they blow up a ton).

All of this was my awesome spring break. We flew to disney world, saw my grandpa, and be lazy couch potatoes at home. I loved my spring break, and i’d do it

The first thing that I can think of that we did over the summer was go to Cedar Point and Soak City. My grandpa and I drove to Ohio on Friday when he got home from work. The car ride was amazing, I had the music loud and the windows down and my feet out the window. When we got to Ohio we went to…

To begin, Florida known as “the sunshine state” hooks you in as soon as you enter the state. The beautiful palm trees blowing in the wind, the numerous orange groves you see from the roadside and the welcome center offering fresh squeezed orange juice makes you feel so at home. There are so many beautiful exotic looking flowers in the landscaping of homes and businesses. Of course, the warmer climate is the main attraction in Florida. The annual average high is 79F degrees and the average low is 57F degrees. Snow rarely falls in most of Florida, but has on occasion in the northern peninsula. Florida also has an abundant annual rainfall especially during the months of June through September. In addition, Florida is located between the Atlantic Ocean and The Gulf of Mexico, therefore it also has exceptionally high humidity and of course there is always a chance of hurricanes as well. Undoubtedly, both of these items are a major downfall to me.…

Miami, FL is a place that has to be felt rather than seen or heard—and by that I mean observed beyond all senses, with mind, body, heart, and soul. I’ve been entrenched in it my whole life, a little Cuban princesita not so different from all the rest, but it’s only as I’ve gotten older that I’ve fully felt like a part of a community, a culture. I feel it when I talk, casually, to the elderly cashier at my neighborhood grocery store, a familiar combination of Spanish, English, and what many call cubanismos, phrases with meanings that simply will not tolerate literal translations, spilling forth. I feel it while seated at a table of no fewer than four relatives on any given evening, judging the quality of a restaurant on the quality of their flan de caramelo or their café. I feel it, too, in the colorful songs of Ernesto Lecuona and the ardent verses of José Marti, but most of all in the anecdotes of my grandparents and great aunt, the nostalgia of long-settled immigrants, echoes of sorrow, shared over dominoes and rice and beans and coladas of espresso.…

Despite the several hurricanes that have occurred in Florida the past couple years, I think it's safe to say that Florida can also be a pleasant place to live. With its mostly sunny weather, friendly disposition, and many exciting attractions, Florida almost doesn't seem like the type of place to have such horrific weather at times. I, personally, even after knowing so many good qualities about the sunshine state, still am not convinced that Florida would be a nice place to live.…

One of the oldest questions in philosophy is whether humans have free will. When I look in retrospective, my journey to Miami makes me wonder is everything predetermined. Ever since I was a kid, I had vivid dreams about a sunny beach, soft golden sand, palm’s waterfall, and beautiful girl who will love me unconditionally.…

As I Easter came upon us, I knew my Grandpa John would be in town. My Grandpa John is 69 years old, and has experienced many different social issues during his life, so I decided to interview him. In his prime, my grandpa served in the military which allowed him to move often around the United States, and the world. I knew he had a lot of experience due to the military, and he was quite the storyteller. I knew it would be easy to talk to him about different social issues throughout his life. As we sat down we talked about many things, but the two ideas that really stuck out to me were the Vietnam War and the Space Race.…

My Grandfather never complained. No matter how bad it got, he never said anything. When he was young boy, he was thrown into the brutal and treacherous lifestyle that made up a Japanese internment camp during World War II. Treated like a POW, his life was miserable. When he was released from the camp he had to pick up the pieces that was his life. Everything changed. He was just a young man to make his own in the world. He struggled for jobs, was discriminated against, fought in the Korean War, and yet provided for his brothers and sisters with a smile on his face. He eventually started his own automotive repair company becoming successful. My grandfather became a successful man, attaining everything he wanted except one thing. A college degree. His father wouldn’t let him obtain an education. My grandfather promised himself he wouldn’t limit the…

The feel of 80 degree temperature, the sound of splashing water, and a super long car ride? Everything but the car ride was awesome! On my spring break this year we took a very long and boring car trip down to Arizona. It was a 18+ hour car trip just going there! I mostly slept and read the way there. First, we visited Arizona state and Arizona University. Then, we stayed at my Grandma and Grandpa’s house. But, what I mostly liked about my spring break was in Arizona there was 80-90 degree temperatures!…

When I walked in the doors of our house, I looked to the left where our couch was and saw my parents sitting facing towards me with nervous faces. I set my bag on the ground next to the door, and I set my shoes next to my bag. I slowly turned around and walked towards the couch, hesitant to take a step forward. Part of me considered bolting--running for the door. Their faces were plastered with anxiety, and I tried to think of what I had done. Nothing clear came to mind. Once I finally sat down, I looked at my parents and said, “What's wrong?”…

Going into my senior year I still had the idea of, I can make it into a Florida school, I wanted to go to a Florida school to play baseball. So my senior year starting the baseball season with a new coach, I made my mind up, I’m going to work hard to stay in Florida and change my coaches mind. Through my senior year I was by far the best pitcher my ERA was under 1, I had 27 pick- offs in just one year. Also this year I was interviewed for being the hot shot of the week, an article in the newspaper. I was nominated for picking off 7 base runners in one game. I learned my pick off move from my coach in middle school before I knew my summer league coach. So I was still working with my summer league coach every once in a while at this point, but…

One morning a long time ago, my mom woke me up early. “It’s time to go,” she said. Go, go where I asked? “Today, we are moving to Florida,” she said. My big brown eyes began to fill up with hot salty tears. I don’t want to go, I said over and over again. You and your sibling are going to be moving to Florida with me. Again, I cried aloud, I don’t want to go. Who will take care of me? Where will I sleep? And what will I eat and drink? Consequently, all of my pleas for mercy to reside longer with my daddy was ignored, and apparently fell on deaf ears.…
