I’m from a big Italian Family. We spend most of our time at family parties in the kitchen. We tell the same stories over and over again, and somehow they are still funny. I have around 30 cousins and around 20 Aunts and Uncles. There is always someone to call and always someone to help out, when it’s needed. We were raised to put family first, and that’s what everyone does.
With so many people, there are tons of different personalities. Some, like me, are loud and talkative. Others are quite and like to just sit and observe. Everyone manages to get along, most of the time!
Something that is so important to our family is food. My mom, Aunts, cousins and I spend hours cooking when we have parties. We have different Italian recipes that have been passed down for years. I don’t have a sister, so growing up with my cousin Annie was the best! We were able to stay close thought the years, even though we go to different schools and we don’t see each other as much as we want. Annie is really my voice of reason. She is smart and caring, and always knows exactly what to say. Although I am older, we always joke how she is the “bigger sister”. Annie is someone I hold very closely to my heart. She’s the sister I always wanted, my future maid of honor and my best friend.
