I can feel my brain being overrun by lesions. This is one of the ways my dad, Tim Huyge, jokes about his disease, M.S. He was born in 1970 in a hard-working middle class family. After high school, he went to Grand Valley State University, and worked as the manager of T.J.Max. Until he had to retire because of his M.S. His impact on my life is never stop working hard, enjoy life to the fullest. Soon after having two young boys, Tim Huyge was diagnosed with a foreign sounding disease called Multiple Sclerosis, which is affected by heat and stress. His doctors recommended that he retire from his job. In fact, my dad just laid in bed and cleaned the house, making everything as clean as the white house, in the first couple of weeks.. Until, he started driving my brother and me to school in the morning. Where afterwards he would meet his friends for lunch and sometimes breakfast. Until he discovered something else to fill his time. Later that year, my mom volunteered my dad to help out, by watching the children at Hughes Elementary School. After that, he started helping people, who are less mobile, out by shoveling their driveways and mowing their yards. He lectures me by always uttering, “Do anything for those who need help, so one day someone can return the favor.” In addition he started doing more things with the community to help the people who live in Marshall. Even though he cannot work, he is always looking for a way to help others become more successful. My Michigan hero, Tim Huyge always works hard and does anything to make others happy or is making sure everyone, including him, is enjoying life, which inspires me to do the same. Even though he has M.S. he always works hard and looks beyond himself to help others who are having a difficult time. For he is either batman or superman in disguise or even better, he is my Michigan hero, and my
