Personal Narrative: My Trip Into The Woods
Almost getting kidnapped
Did you know that if you go into the woods late at night you have a 50-50 percent chance of getting kidnapped? One day I, Allie, Skylar, and Tanner were having a sleepover at Allies house. It was July on a Friday at around 11:00p.m. All of the sudden, we were playing truth or dare. Allie dared us to go into the woods, and I guess she forgot that it was like pitch black out like you couldn’t even see each other, so we took a flash light with us. We weren’t thinking at all. Then we started going into the woods together we all held on to each other it was really scary. Next, we heard a noise from behind a tree. It sounded like a little toy doll.
“Tanner go over and see what it is” said Allie
“NOO!!! YOU” yelled Tanner

So Skylar slowly walked over behind the tree, Skylar looked and he saw nothing, so we ran out of the woods. While we were running out, some guy followed us. The guy had his whole body covered in black clothing. The guy chased us with a shovel for like 10 mins. After that he stopped and we went back to Allies

This quote shows how Perry describes his motivation to kill the Clutters. It begins with a rivalrous confrontation with Dick over whether Dick will go through with his promise to “blast hair all over the walls”; this is quickly eclipsed by Perry’s feelings of shame and self-loathing, while reflecting on the indignity of the botched robbery and by association, the indignity of his life as a criminal. He is hardly conscious of slitting Herb Clutter’s throat; the murder comes as a kind of automatic response to the memory of other frustrations and insults he has endured, of which the Clutter household is symbolic.…

“So if try to find clues like this we can get who is the actual thief.” I said. So we continued our journey, following the footsteps towards a large pine tree, there we saw that the footsteps were stopped and a large print which looked like someone’s paws we tired to measure it too but it was larger than us. So we started our trail again we saw that this trail was endless.…

It’s midnight and as I expected, a black Ford F-150 Truck with tinted windows pulls up to my house. I walk outside holding a backpack with my portable speakers and a baseball bat. However, I quickly change my mind and leave the baseball bat inside the house. I hop into the back seat of the truck and am greeted by four large burly kids. “What’s up Matt?” says Ben who is sitting in the drivers seat. With music blasting, Ben takes off the parking brake and presses his foot down onto the gas pedal. Soon we are heading down dark winding roads as we listen to music from Captain Murphy, which contributes to our mischievous mood. Finally we arrive.…

I was a camp counselor at Camp Wabikon ‒ a co-ed overnight summer camp located in Temagami, Ontario for children who are 6-15 years of age. Along with teaching Red Cross swimming and lifesaving and Tennis, I was my cabin's 'parent' for six weeks. Therefore, I was present with the children at all times. In essence, I was the leader of my cabin's the physical, social and mental development. The main things I learned were the importance of time management and organization , as I had to plan lessons for swimming and Tennis while taking care of my cabin; conflict resolution between campers; and the ability to plan and foresee events (I had to plan camp-wide events and activities for all campers).…

“Why I Went to the Woods” by Henry David Thoreau is such an intriguing piece of literature due to the fact that there are many hidden metaphors within its content. The book is mainly about a man who was in search to purchase a farm and unfortunately at the end the deal was broken off. He soon realized that perhaps this was for the best, seeing how he wanted more than what he really needed in his life. Not long after he decides to go off and live on his own in his own shack that he built in the woods. As I mentioned before, there are many hidden messages that must be paid very close attention to truly understand the meaning of the story.…

I’ve always wanted to be good at something. Writing isn’t one of them. Hiking however, let’s say I’m confident that I hover somewhere above the line of Intermediate. Good enough to survive high elevation glacier treks and overnighters at least. As a hobby or extracurricular activity, it’s probably my biggest passion. So much that I found that writing of them is like having the opportunity to do each one over again. Once upon a time I set forth a book project, a story telling, you might say, of all my treks including the ascent of five mountains. However, I lacked the confidence of presenting a way to share my stories of me being the key subject. Eventually the project lost steam and fell to the wayside. Even so, I enjoyed reliving each one while writing of them, and, I continued to set goals and hike. Putting myself out there in high open meadows or deep forest of the Cascades has given me a fresh perspective of my everyday world. Forget about football, baseball or sports in general. Forget about housework, yard work or for that matter work itself. Actually, my accommodating career generously facilitated this hobby that at times takes ample time and expense. Therefore, we can’t forget about work. Nonetheless, the introduction to hiking has gotten me off the couch and into the…

Austin and I followed behind on the go-cart doing fish tales and kicking up rocks and dust. When we got back to the neighbors I switched over to the four-wheeler with Hadassa and Austin on back. Uriah rode with Luke on the go-cart and we started racing down the dirt roads towards our childhood lake. The four-wheeler went much faster so we arrived there way before them. Bored waiting, we started back up, whipped around, and raced back to find them. By this time it was already dark. We were young and dumb, and…

Fortunately, I had to carry all the light supplies like marshmallows and towels. We walked about four miles into the overgrown weeds and prickers until there was a small parting in the greenery. I sat on a log near the firepit and watching Chloe and Lexy set up the tents. A few hours of adventuring and partying went by it was now nightfall. The fire had been lit, by then it was pitch black out only the fire lighting up our faces. Freshman year we started playing the game one truth and two lies, a childish game we played out of boredom. We had been playing for about thirty minutes before we got bored and it was the last turn of the game. Lexy grinned “I’ll go, I have a fish named Tom, I have a trampoline, or I am a Serial killer.” We all laughed at the idea of Lexy being a Serial killer then chloe spoke up, “it’s the trampoline I know it!” she smiled knowing she got it correct. Lexy shook her head, “Alright, then the fish named Tom.” I said hesitantly. She shook her head again at that moment Chloe and I stopped laughing and stared at Lexy. After two minutes Lexy spoke up “Honestly, I was out shopping I had a 50% off coupon and the man at the register wouldn't take it! We fought for five minutes then I left, but I waited till…

I hear the camp horn. I wake up drowsily, knowing if I arrive late, I’ll get in trouble for the millionth time. It’s night. I look up at the sky, and there it is. Right above me is the most beautiful thing I ever saw, a meteor shower. I lay on the grass as a dozen lights fly across the sky. I closed my eyes and made a wish. “I wish everything I touch is turned into candy.” I said. As soon as I said it, I immediately regretted it.…
