It was a very long year of doing the same thing but different days. As the last weeks of school came to a close it was a blessing to hear that Lexy, Chloe, and I were allowed to go on our first camping trip. Everything seemed to be falling into place as we were packing the car fool of needed supplies and extra goodies; though I must say it was rather weird that Lexy insisted she must pack the supplies in her car by herself. Chloe and I didn't have much of a problem because it was less work for us. After what seemed like hours we were on the road. Earlier that day my mother was constantly warning me about how imperative it was that I wasn't running around or being stupid because not even two months prior to this …show more content…
Fortunately, I had to carry all the light supplies like marshmallows and towels. We walked about four miles into the overgrown weeds and prickers until there was a small parting in the greenery. I sat on a log near the firepit and watching Chloe and Lexy set up the tents. A few hours of adventuring and partying went by it was now nightfall. The fire had been lit, by then it was pitch black out only the fire lighting up our faces. Freshman year we started playing the game one truth and two lies, a childish game we played out of boredom. We had been playing for about thirty minutes before we got bored and it was the last turn of the game. Lexy grinned “I’ll go, I have a fish named Tom, I have a trampoline, or I am a Serial killer.” We all laughed at the idea of Lexy being a Serial killer then chloe spoke up, “it’s the trampoline I know it!” she smiled knowing she got it correct. Lexy shook her head, “Alright, then the fish named Tom.” I said hesitantly. She shook her head again at that moment Chloe and I stopped laughing and stared at Lexy. Chloe was the first to stand up , she looked at the parting of the greenery then back at us. We knew that the path back was full of waist high weeds and prickers. In that very moment Chloe sprinted to the car, and I certainly followed. I tried my best to run but didn’t make it past the parting of trees. We unknowingly sent ourselves into a black abyss of plants and animals. There was no real running in these woods it was more of a brisk walk, prickers were sticking to our legs but none of that mattered now. I could hear Lexy close to our trail behind us for she was stomping on twigs causing them to snap. We pushed our way out of the four miles to the car, we had to keep going there way no way I was getting in a car with a dead body. Chloe put me over her shoulder and said “We need to get to the highway.” Then, Lexy popped out of the greenery. We both screamed at her sight I started throwing rocks and pebbles at her to slow her down. In the distance we saw an old gas station, we knew what we had to do, Chloe set me down to run with her. I pushed through the pain of running trying my best to keep up with Chloe. Only two of the stooges made it out the forest that day. Returning to the boring schedule of the
