Personal Narrative: My Trip To West Virginia
I haven’t been on many vacations before but in the last year I went to another state that I have never been to before. I would love to get out and travel but with my parents work schedule and my work schedule we never seem to get to go on many vacations. This summer I am going on a vacation that is out of the country. I am honestly nervous to go on this vacation, because my parents will not be going with me. Another reason is because I have never been out of the United States before. This past summer I visited West Virginia. I would have to say it is one of the most beautiful places that I have ever been to before. They also have some of the most beautiful parks. The main reason that I went to West Virginia this summer was to go visit my …show more content…
The roads are smaller and that less people live up there. They stay in a small town with about Fifteen thousand people. I also learned that I am not the best driver when it comes to driving in the mountains. While I was up there we did something different every day. On the first day we went golfing. I would say golfing is really fun but I’m not the best golfer at all. We also went to a couple of water parks. Another perk that West Virginia has is that everything honestly cost less. Both of the water parks that we went to were very cheap and nice. Unlike here in Fayetteville when you pay over twenty dollars to get into a water park. One of my favorite things we did while I was up there visiting was going to the mall. They have two malls and bother are fairly close to where I was staying at. I would compare the mall in Morgantown to the mall in Raleigh. The mall in Morgantown was my favorite one by far. It had all the stores that I love to shop at and many more. I honestly hope to move up there one day. I love the small town environment and everything else that it has to offer. A few days before I had to leave we went and visited Laurel Caves, in Pennsylvania. Laurel

Throughout my life, I have had to make many choices. Some have been quite simple such as, whether to have a cookie or ice cream, or quite difficult such as, trying to decide where I wanted to go to college. All these choices, big or small, have made me who I am today. Certain choices have taught me lessons about what not to do in life, while other choices have made me grow stronger in my moral character. One such choice was whether or not to take part in my church’s mission trip called Impact Virginia. I had the choice between spending a week of my summer relaxing at home, or outside working on houses for people in need. I can honestly say at that time it was a difficult choice. I had never gone on a mission trip, so I had never known how…

On our trip to Cedar Glen, I learned numerous things that will benefit me in the future and assist me in making crucial decisions. One of the things I learned is group dynamics and working with other people. My group participated in various activities, such as logs and marshmallows, which taught us that we shouldn’t just focus on ourselves when completing a task, but also everybody in our group. In both logs and marshmallows, our group made sure each person reached the other side instead of just themselves, which the reason why we accomplished the activity is that we worked together as a team. I also learned that in a group, there could be people who lead a task, maintain a group, or focus on themselves. In low ropes and high ropes, we learned…

Growing up in Forrest City Arkansas, there was not much to do, fields for miles and not a chance at seeing a tree. But forty miles away, I could not say the same, the pearl of the Mississippi River, Memphis Tennessee. It all started when a few days before summer break began last year when I overheard my step-dad and uncle talking about a hiking trip in Colorado that we were going to take sometime in the month of early July. The omniscient narrator of “Story of an Hour” by Kate Chopin immediately informs the reader that the main character, Mrs. Mallard, suffers from heart trouble thus revealing to her the tragic news of her husband has to be done with great care. Mrs. Mallard does not “hear the story as many women have heard the same, with a paralyzed inability to accept its significance” but instead she wails with “wild abandonment” and steals away to be alone in her room, shunning her sister and slumping into one of her armchairs in a state of shock. Alone, she then begins to realize that she is now independent and suddenly fills up with joy. Chopin uses characterization, symbols, and setting to inspire women to seek independence and hint revolting against gender conformity or against social norms that limit women's possibilities in life.…

Yosemite is a wonderful place to visit. If you have leisure time on your hands you should visit Yosemite. When I traveled there it took about 6-7 hours because I live in Orange County and Yosemite is located in east-central California. When I was there I saw the beautiful granite mountains called Half Dome, and El Capitan. Half Dome looks like a rock with giant piece chipped out of it. El Capitan looks to me like a huge arrowhead. My family and I walked on a bridge made of rock and took in the amazing sights. I also stared at the numerous waterfalls that gushed out of the sides of mountains. My brother, friends (who also came to Yosemite with me), and I hiked up many trails that led to creeks, edges of water falls, forests, and the bottoms of mountains.…

One of our favorite past-times to indulge in while in Tennessee is to take trips up and down the swirling and curving roads that cover the mountainsides. Do you have a favorite place to go? Many people have a favorite place to visit daily, weekly, or even yearly. My favorite place to go is New Jersey. This is a state located on the eastern side of the United States right below New York. As a result, there are a lot of things that you can do and enjoy in and around New Jersey. However, New Jersey is my favorite place to visit for three reasons—my family lives there, the weather are good, and I enjoy going crabbing at the local beaches.…

To escape the reality of life and relax, I go back to my home town Lake View, South Carolina on the weekends. Lake View is a rural town near the North and South Carolina state line. I do not some elaborate vacation spot to unwind and relax; I am perfectly fine with going back to the boondocks. People that pass through always wonder why anybody would want to be in such a small town; but I love everything about that one caution light town. I only get to go back on Friday, Saturday and Sunday now, but it is definitely worth the two hour drive back every weekend.…
