I woke up hazed with blurred vision. The right side of my face was dried and burned. The left side of my face was soaked in salt water and blood. I was freaked out and picked up my head and blinked rapidly. I saw nothing but blue for miles and miles, the sky and the water. When I looked down I saw nothing but a small black and orange rubber dingy. I tried to think about what had happened. It was then when I realized I couldn't even remember my own name. Then panic just settled in for some reason I jumped in the water freaking out. I came to my senses and quickly started using all my strength to hurdle myself in the dingy.
I knew I needed to figure out what happened and do it fast. I quickly felt my pockets to find my wallet barely intact held by a thread. Salt water felt into my eyes and I went to wipe it away only to see it was blood from a three inch gash on my eyebrow. I looked under a tarp in the dingy and found a wooden box with orange floats attached to it. The latch was corroded from the sea water but it opened up. The plane was getting closer by the second. I went to pull the trigger then heard a click. That was probably the worst thing that could happen in that scenario so I went to pop out the flare and put it back it. But as I opened it the flare was ejected out into the water. I dove in after it and grabbed it with a death grip. Jumping back in the dingy I put the flare back in and pulled back the hammer and fires that flare straight at the plane. The shot was so great that it almost hit the plane. The plane circled around and started to get lower the side read U.S. Coast Guard. 30 minutes later a helicopter came and hovered above me.
