Personal Narrative: Predator Prey
When I arrived at Atwood there was a cemetery right as we entered which gave me a chill. I told Matt, my friend I was sitting next to, “that we might go in there.” The bus stopped, there were two dorms, one for boys and one for girls. All of the boys were fighting for bunks because they all wanted the top , but I let my partner, “that everyone had to have” pick and said,”you can have the top bunk.” After we all got settled, we had lunch and I sat with my friends Jack, Brett, and other people on the trip. Next we headed for our groups where we were dismissed to go. My group was the Eagles. I was lucky I had that group because we were going to play a fun game called Predator Prey. We were lucky enough to play predator prey on the first day. …show more content…

When we were about to start I heard a sound. I told the leader, “I heard some lightning. Does that mean we have to cancel the hike?” Then she looked up and saw lightning. The radio from her waist said, if you see any lightning, report it. She didn’t want to, but it was canceled and that meant we had our campfire inside. On the way back I heard a coyote sound which I thought was cool since they said,” it will be pretty rare to hear a coyote.” The next day we had breakfast and we visited the souvenir store. They had stuffed animals ,shirts ,bottles and pins. I bought an owl and three pins since they were cheap. I was so happy I went to Atwood. If I didn’t go, I wouldn’t have had the fun when doing Predator Prey, Alpha Wolf, the solo hike, teamwork activities and making the s'mores. Before we left, they gave us all a special dessert to say goodbye and then we packed our things and went on the bus. Most kids were all rushing to sit in the back of the bus. When we got back to school there were parents everywhere. My aunt picked me up, I hugged her and was happy to be back home from three days. I had to go inside school since my folder with my homework was in it. That’s when I told her It was the best because of the things that happened. There were some incidents , but for most of it I had fun at

My greatest influences are my parents and my brother. My brother suffered from Guillain- Barre Syndrome when he was eight. He lived in the hospital on an artificial ventilation for 97 days and later he had to continue physical therapy for at least ten years as he was completely paralyzed. My parents and my brother devoted their few years completely for his treatment. Today, my brother is a successful engineer working in the bay area. I learned that with dedication, determination and diligence we can achieve our dream in life…

At exactly 6pm the bell was rung which signaled to everyone that dinner was now ready. We all piled in to eat an assortment of chicken, rice, vegetables, and salad. After dinner a bunch of the girls, including myself, sat on the dock letting our feet dangle down by the water and sharing stories trying to get to know one another better. I was surprised to find that a lot of us actually had a lot more in common, other than being in the honors program, then I would of imagined. Later on that night we all gathered around a camp fire enjoying our smore's and anticipating what the next day had in store for us.…

Later that morning, in the sunlit dining hall, breakfast was being severed. My group sat at the table we sat at the night before. As I started to eat my tater-tots , the events from yesterday filled my mind. My group went snorkeling, both day and night, I could still feel the cold water soak my wetsuit. I remembered that Mr. Lacey, our principal, announced that the school would be leaving today because of a storm. I was disappointed because I payed for three days instead of two,but at least I was having fun.…

It was two in the morning. I got out of bed, running on three hours of sleep. I ran downstairs after getting ready for a long bus ride. I saw my mom and grandpa waiting downstairs, as my grandpa was going on the trip with me. When at the school, teachers checked our bags, kind of like the airport. After this check, we were off (well, about an hour later). Now it was off on our new home for the next 12 hours. For the first three hours, everyone slept. It was boring and I will skip that. We then pulled over for our breakfast stop. When we stopped, the teachers passed out our boxes of bagels. We proceeded to get back on the road next, which was a rather long time. About four hours of driving through Ohio farms and Pennsylvania hills,…

The summer following my sixth grade year was full of kick the can, capture the flag, ghost in the graveyard, and many more games played with the neighborhood kids. Some games got out of hand at times. As I tried to tag Conner to stop him from scoring in our little game of capture the ball, I seemed to forget I had a tree in the middle of my yard and I ran straight into it. Once during a competition of “America’s Got Talent” Logan mooned all of us, leaving us girls petrified. Then one hot summer night I was running the bases as we continued our game of whiffle ball while Trenton started to pee in the open onto our homemade bases made of rocks... he didn’t receive chocolate chip cookies with the rest of us that night. Out of all our eventful times the one I treasure most is when we set up our own little camp site. We found two tents and connected them both in my backyard. We slept outside, one tent for the boys and one for the girls. Eventually the boys got scared by a gunshot we heard in the distance so they joined us but were kept at a distance by my mother who kept an eye on us that night. Long games of truth or dare were…

After my second year in high school, I made a decision that would turn out to be life changing. This decision wasn’t life changing in the way that getting married or going to college would be, but I really learned a lot about myself that summer. What I’m about to tell you is what happened when I switched from Marching Band to Football. I will explain to you why this switch was such a big deal to me and what I learned about myself from it. Switching from Marching Band to Football after my Sophomore year of high school changed the way I saw myself because I found I have a strong enough will to follow my heart despite controversy with others, I have a strong desire to be in control of my life, and I have an aggressive side that had not shown itself before.…

In the morning the whole convention went into one of the auditoriums to hear the awards being called out. I didn’t win anything for poetry, but my group won first place in book battle. As I went onto the stage I couldn’t stop smiling. Our school got first place in two other events. That meant that the people events that placed qualified to go to nationals in Disney World. For the rest of the day my friends and I kept saying “We’re going to Disney!” because we couldn’t believe what had happened. And all the way home we held our first place…

It was a bright and sunny day, and the last bell of the day just went off in St. Mark’s Academy. The rumbling of kids and the slamming of lockers was all you heard as the first day of school was over. You could see class syllabi being trampled on as everyone stormed out of the school and into their parent’s cars or buses. I lived a few blocks down from the school so I was expected to walk each and every day, but it wasn’t a lonely road as I had my friend Josh that just lived a street over from me. Josh and I have been best friends since 3rd grade and you could barely separate us from each other. We loved to play video games and we would talk about them just about every time were together. In the mites of our conversation of who could beat who in halo, Josh stopped and starred at the old abandoned house on Maple St. I turned and said to him and said “what’s up?” he looked and me then back at the house and said i dare you to walk around that house. I looked at him and laughed and said there was no way I would enter that house. The house gave off a foggy feel that made the hair stand up on your back; it had two broken windows, and a front door that would slam continuously as the wind blew. He then…

“Graduation, the hush-hush magic time of frills and gifts and congratulations and diplomas.” You weren’t lying when you said that Maya Angelou. May 19th, 2013 I had dreamt of that day for almost four years. I know I can’t be the only person who feel this way. I remember it as if it was just yesterday. So many different emotions going through my mind all at once. Happiness, Sadness, I felt relieved because it was almost over but at the same time I felt anxious and overly excited to just leave and go far away. 389 seniors were going to walk across the stage and receive their diplomas. After all, our class had the biggest percentage of graduates who were actually…

As I was writing my personal narrative for my composition 1 class, it easily made my mind boggle. After I had got started on my personal narrative, it was easy for me to keep writing and keep following along the story line. The main strength of mine that the essay played to was my creativity and my flexibility for different writings, because I have never written an essay as serious and sad as this one, but I did have to add my happy ending when I finished the story. I wanted it to be very attention grabbing with a twist, but I also wanted it to be very emotional.…

Football has always been a big part of my life. As a young boy I would day dream of making insane touchdowns, making tackles that would leave man stuck in the ground, and even winning the heisman trophy. In 7th grade I had begged my mother endlessly to sign me up for pee wee football because she would always worry about the risks of football. After finally getting her to sign me up, we went straight into the season. I chose to play running back because as a 12-year-old I was remarkably fast having timed 5.3 in the 40 yard-dash. After a few weeks in the season we approached the playoffs and found out our opponent for the first round of the playoffs were the jaguars who were undefeated. Our team didn’t have the best chemistry on…

It was cold and raining and I was surrounded by people I didn’t not know and all technology was taken from us. As we hiked and went through avalanches and icy floor and waterfalls I felt a surge of loneliness and hopelessness. As we hiked through the wilderness I felt fear and discourage. What if I couldn’t do it? What if I fell off a cliff and died? What must my Mom be feeling now? As these questions raced through my head we crossed a muddy river and reach are next stop to set up our campsite for the night. I sat down to help a boy who had wounded his knee and try to lift his spirits in hope of forgetting mine. When one of my fellow tent mates walks up to us and she sits next to me. We get to talking and soon after she is crying. I was worried I thought maybe something is wrong that she twisted her ankle or maybe she was getting sick. As I started to ask her what was wrong she began to pour out her thoughts and emotions to me. She, much like I had been feeling lonely and scared from leaving home for the first time. At that moment I realized I was not alone there were many others like me. I began to reassure her and in the process reassured myself. At that moment I realized I’m stronger than I give myself credit for and though we may all suffer through the same issues we must help each other out in order to help ourselves…
