Students of physical therapy must devote their time, reflecting their ability to be fully dedicated to their patients. It is important that students in the program are selfless individuals with a concern for the welfare of others. I have a deep interest for patients, and I enjoy devoting my time to them because I feel a personal obligation to cater to their needs. During peak hours at Kapi’olani, the waiting room would be filled with families awaiting their session. I made it my responsibility to help as many patients as I was permitted to assist. I often ended up staying longer than my required time, but for me it was not a taxing task to dedicate my time to those I could help. As I strive toward my goal of being a physical therapist, these values will remain at the forefront of my mind. I am passionate about people and their well-being, which makes me a strong candidate for the program. I believe that I possess the necessary interpersonal skills, appreciation for people, experience in physical therapy, and passion for the job to become a successful member of the physical therapy profession. I would keep these skills with me after completion of the program and apply them to my own practice. If given the opportunity to showcase these skills, I will demonstrate that I define what it means to be professional in a doctor of physical therapist degree
