Screams echo throughout the park and could be heard from every direction. Rollercoasters could be seen for miles and the height of it viciously cuts through the clouds. Children are seen running around while their parents tirelessly chase them. Many people are walking around chattering aimlessly of their excitement for the day. The smell of hotdogs and nachos whiffs into my nostrils. Realizing that I had forgotten to eaten breakfast that morning, my stomach grumbles in protest. My mouth waters at the thought of food and an ice cold drink to quench my thirst.
As I turned
to my right, I see the lake crashing lightly along the beach and the blinding light reflecting off of the water. Tiny shadows of people are seen laying down and taking in the sun’s unforgiving rays. An alarm goes off blaringly as someone had won a prize and startles me for a second. Next to me, my boyfriend tightens his hold on my hand with his rough calloused ones and gives me a crooked smile. He mumbles something to me that I did not hear. I was still distracted by everything before me. My mouth curls into a grin and my heart quickens at the thought of today’s exciting festivities.
