She spoke with jealously, “Those bitches are just jealous.”
Driving to her meeting, Louise remembered she left her water bottle at home “Oh well, I can get another one at the market.”
Pulling into the parking lot, she recognized Heather’s Mercedes entering the lot in front of her and parked. Louise listened to the song on the before she turned off the engine and picked up her purse. When she got out of the car, she saw Mr. Cassidy coming around the side of the store …show more content…
with his shopping cart half filled with cans and bottles. After pausing, he went in Heather’s direction.
“Good day, how are you doing?” Louise heard him ask. Ignoring him Heather rushed him into the market with her head in the air. Laughing aloud, he slapped the side of his leg as she went into the store.
Pushing the cart toward a large dumpster, he paused to rest. Turning around, he noticed Louise going into the market. She saw him and started back toward her car to avoid talking to him.
He said, “Good morning,” At least, he would force her to speak.
“I told you that I never wanted to talk to you again as long as I lived!” She yelled.
He answered with a lump in his throat, “Honestly, you don’t need to be nasty. I’ve never hurt you or anyone else.”
Although, Louise decided she never wanted to talk to him again. Thinking this was a perfect opportunity to talk about Justin, she said, pointing her finger, “Mr. Cassidy, I want you to stay away from my son.”
Answering, he smiled which only made her angrier, “I didn’t go looking for him, he found me, and you can’t be mad at me. Honestly, I don’t know why you insist on calling me, Mr. Cassidy, the least, you can do is, call me, Ernest.”
“If he comes to your house again, I want you to make him leave at once.” She ordered with her snobbish attitude, and ignored him wanting her to call him Ernest.
He said and laughed,“Now you wait a minute. Are you asking or telling me?” At least now, she was talking to him.
She threatened and shook her finger, “I’m warning you to stay away from him. I swear you’ll be sorry if you don’t. He’s a good boy, we want him to stay that way. Do you understand?” She pleaded and would have done anything to keep him away from Justin.
Ernest said and laughed, “I agree he is a good boy, and I want him to stay that way. Can you guess what he said to me?”
“How would I know what he said?” She answered with sarcasm.
“He wants a Grandpa just like me, imagine that.” Ernest laughed clapping his hands. He was getting pleasure from tormenting her.
“You’ve got to be kidding!” She snarled her nose and raised her voice. “You’ll never be his grandfather!”
“He asked if I would be a temporary Grandpa at the boy's club when they have luncheons or dinners. I guess his dad works much of the time. You can bet your boots I am going to consider it,” Mr. Cassidy
boasted.
