Me feet start to burn and we are not even close. I fall to my knees and instead of climbing it feels like I am falling back. The sand feels like quicksand making me go deeper and deeper in the sand. “When I get to the top of this hill I am going to be so happy I thought to myself”. as “Do need a water bottle to cool down your feet” a girl said “Sure thank you” my dad said

It felt like needles going right into my skin.”Almost there” I thought to myself. Now I was almost inches away. “Finally” I screamed. I just got to the top of the hill. Over all it took us about two hours and thirty minutes. Now on from that day we learned that we should think before we

It was easy to see why the Blessed had chosen this location for our first church, the contrast between the light blues of the water and the luscious greens of the forest was otherworldly. Especially after all the yellow I had seen in the past week.…

I felt my stomach disappear. The ground accelerated towards me, as I sped up the side of the mountain blurred. I was falling. The mountains in the distance looked like pure gold, absorbing the evening sunlight with their desert-sand-colored surfaces. The skyline was beautiful. The sun was just crossing the horizon, a flash of every color of the rainbow and more danced around it. I was at peace. I was so close to the ground that I could see every detail of every rock, every grain of sand. Time slowed. I could see every atom, every molecule. I had time now. I had the time to think about what I had done, and what it had meant. I had faced the snake. I had conquered my fear of heights, and I had conquered my fear of falling. I had conquered my fear of fear. It felt freeing in a way, there was nothing to be afraid of anymore. It was like a dream.…

I lay on cold hard ground, trying to recover my bearings. I push myself up, the gash in my left leg hurting like never before. Nevertheless, I continue into the blackness, deeper into the woods. I run, and run, and run, farther into the veil of darkness that encompasses me. It feels like I have been running for months now, but still I endeavor. The only thing that guides me is the pale light from the full moon, shining like a glimmering opal in the sky. I don’t remember how I got here; the last thing I remember is tremendous pain, like being hit by a car, then waking up in this god forsaken land. Giant oaks surround me; their entangling roots occasionally causing me to stumble. The air smells wet and dank, with the whispers of ghosts saying “are you in…

The sun was beating down, making the sand burn my feet. As I walk up and down the coastline, me feet bury in the burning hot sand. The waves crash into the nearby rocks. Pelicans are flying over my head. Looking into the distance, I can see a sailboat, far into the ocean. My family walks behind me holding a picnic basket and a blanket. We had planned this picnic for weeks now. As we pick our spot to set up the picnic, me and my dad begin to play catch with the frisbee. The wind blew into my face when I ran up and down the beach to catch the frisbee. My dad threw the frisbee right into the water. When I dropped my foot into ice cold water, I didn’t know if I was going to be able to get the frisbee. The water was way too cold for me to go in.…
