The Spanish founded the first settlement in the New World in St. Augustine, Florida in 1565. Twenty two years later, one hundred twenty Englishmen traveled towards New World and attempted to settle there. The settlers sailed and stayed at Roanoke Island, an island off the coast of North Carolina. They soon began to run low on supplies. As a result, they sent their governor, John White, to get some supplies from England. After many setbacks, John White returned and discovered that every single colonist on the island had astonishingly disappeared!
