Personal Narrative: The Red Hot Chili Peppers
Imagine waiting hours for one of the best bands in the entire world. Waiting hours on end to get kicked out of the line for front row to The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Anthony Kiedis, Chad Smith, Josh Klinghoffer and fucking Flea. It’s the seventh of June and we are at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee. I had planned for months and months ahead of time to wait in line all day to get in the pit or the “very front row area” for the concert. This was my first attempt to be in the front row for any concert. I just finished reading “Scar Tissue” by Anthony Kiedis and have the hugest crush on him. I remember searching up that people would wait as soon as the Bonnaroo doors would open just to be in the pit for the headliners and that was exactly what I was planning on doing because I had watched videos and their concerts looked so fun at the front. …show more content…
My friend Wendy and are 100% sure we missed them. I tell Wendy my plans “I plan to be at Chili Peppers around eleven in the morning.” But, Wendy convince me to wait until three because she doesn't think people will be in the line but, instead will go see another band we love, Cage The Elephant. “I have to go see them, imagine how many people will be at cage and how lit it will be. We weren't even that close to Cage for the first concert.” “that’s pretty funny because I am the one who paid more than two hundred dollars to get the closest seats for us.” Yet, she still is trouble deciding whether to go to Cage or Chili Peppers. “But it's the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS YOU CAN'T MISS THEM FOR CAGE IT JUST DOES NOT MAKE SENSE.” We had seen Cage in concert the year before and I don't understand how she could even decide between the two. We will never have an opportunity like this to be so close to the Red Hot Chili Peppers without having to pay $1000 for one

However their biggest concert is coming up on December 13th, called Crazy For Christmas. It’s not a Christmas concert really, but it’s more of a holiday concert, although they don’t play any Christmas music, it’s all mostly their new songs and some of their old songs. The concert is being held at Regency Ballroom in San Francisco. The concert isn’t by seats it’s a first come first serve sort of thing. Regular tickets add up to about 36 dollars. However they also had VIP tickets, and only 5 platinum tickets. The VIP was also very limited because they were sold out in the first 10 minutes. There are still regular tickets available but they are almost sold out. Kalin, Myles and Jake also have another close friend Tyler Garcia, or Ty. He is the one who shoots them and all of their music videos and is really close with them. Everyone…

One day person named tom was out camping in the woods with a bunch of rednecks. Tom brung his four-wheeler along with his camping supplies. He and the group drove out there. “Come on you old one mile an hour driving kid,” “I’m Comin and I not a kid,” Tom said. Tom was a little younger than the group. Tom was on the trail following the group's “orders”. He was out learning how to camp redneck style. Tom always hated robby, the one who yelled at him. One time when he was wrestling around with Robby’s younger son Tom slammed him, Robby’s son started crying. Then he got up and hit him with a stick on the leg. After that Tom was the one who got in trouble instead of Robby’s son. Tom was slowing down and gradually getting farther away…

The opening act for her was an artist by the name of RAHBI, he was amazing. His vocal range and performance was out of this world, I had to meet him. Once the concert was over he was in the lobby doing a meet and greet while selling a few of his cd’s. When the crowd finally left I was able to make my move to meet him and ask a couple of questions. I told him how much I enjoyed his show and told him about what I wanted to do in the music industry, he gave me a little of advice and told me to add him on Facebook. I added him and he began inviting me to all of his…

“Sometimes quiet is violent,” those words ring into the teeming stadium as thousands of zealous fans sing along. One of those fans happen to be myself, standing in the middle of the pit of people. Two shadowy silhouettes exist on stage; one on the piano and the other on the drums. Then suddenly the lights flash revealing an immense sign labeled Twenty One Pilots. Tyler Joseph on the piano, and Josh Dunn on the drums. Tyler only concentrates on the piano, barely letting the singing crowd impede his focus. Josh is coated in a thick layer of sweat, as he gently strikes the cymbals, just enough to give an ominous feel. As the middle of their song, “Car Radio” approaches, Josh asks Tyler to sit in a chair. Although we want to cheer, conversely, we watch in anticipation, as Tyler obscured by a white sheet, just barely covering his scrawny body. Abruptly, Josh removes the sheet, and Tyler is gone.…

On February 5th, 1992, I, Richard Joseph Gallot, was born at two fifteen in the morning, at St. Francis Medical Center. I am the son of Rick Gallot and Tammy Johnston and I am the only child. As an infant, I lived in Grambling, Louisiana, on one forty one Gallot drive. For about the next two years, my parents developed issues with each other. Then, at the age of two years old, my parents divorced. My father got custody of me and continued living in Grambling while my mother moved around the west coast. From age two until about age twelve, I have been traveling back and forth from Grambling to Dallas. It was hard for me to understand why both of my parents aren’t waking me up every morning together, like all my friends at school. As a child I…

With sweat drenching their bodies and taking deep gulps for air, five young men sling their arms over each other’s shoulders and take their final bow. The crowd’s cheers erupt into shrieks and tears; for they have just witnessed the boy band One Direction perform live in concert. My screams too, can be heard throughout my house as I watch this video on YouTube vowing to myself that one day I will see One Direction in concert. I make this promise to myself, as my screams then morph into tears of joy and longing as the members of One Direction exit the stage.…

Most concerts are way better in a good size venue. The concert in Michigan has a smaller venue, and there will probably be more packed than the one in Indiana. The venue in Indiana will be larger and more room for the people that come to see the band play live. If we go to a smaller venue than the closer we would closer be in the band. But if we go to a bigger venue then we would have a better view of the band. I would like to see the band while they play, and not the back of people's heads.…

My life sounds like a lot of things, the sound of my kitten making strange noises because she doesn’t meow, the sound of my brothers chasing each other up the stairs, and the sound of my entire family having dinner at my house for a special occasion. But, those aren’t the only sounds. I have grown up in a household where music has always existed. In every car ride there was always music. That's what I remember most about my childhood, is the music that we listened too. There were memories that had nothing to do with them of course, but there are many small memories that are centered around a certain song that we'd all dance and sing to. The song itself isn't what's special, it's the memories that go along with it.…

Bands of America was very cool this year! The bus ride went very well, only problem being that every bump hit would rewind the movie that was playing. Once we got there everything went very smoothly. I got to help the band moms put the hat boxes in order! Warm ups there were a lot of jitters in the air it seemed, but not bad ones. Waiting to get on the field was extremely nerve wracking. But, once we got on the field everything seemed nice and mellow, like we were back on the field at home, it just had a different crowd and background. I feel really good about the performance. We did the best we could do and our best got us third in our class! Heading to the hotel and getting to lay down and rest was very nice and much needed. The food was…

My love for music began in middle school. At that time, I was socially awkward with very few friends. To compensate, I buried myself in music. My dedication led to many honors and admiration from my peers. However, when I got to high school, my relationship with music fundamentally changed. The arrival of an overly demanding teacher coupled with a long episode of depression robbed me of my passion to play. As time progressed, the pain I felt became too much to bear, and I became desperate for an outlet in which I could express myself positively. My quest led me to music once more, but classical was no longer the genre of choice. It was in hip hop and rap music that I found the will to overcome mental illness.…
