Personal Narrative Ulcerative Colitis

It was in the middle of 2nd grade when I had a headache and felt really nauseous. My parents thought it might not be serious until they saw the blood in my stool when I was using the bathroom. My parents rushed me to the emergency room. They were scared and I heard my mom crying loud as a dying whale. A Couple minutes later, I heard the doctor saying that I had ulcerative colitis. Ulcerative colitis is a chronic, inflammatory bowel disease that causes inflammation in the digestive tract.The doctors told me that I had to go to with the symptom my entire life. I thought in my head “ How will I survive this” and “who will help go through this”. That it when I realized that my family will always be at my side by helping in my hard times and giving me the encouraging words that “ I can do it”.
I know friends come and go, but your family will ALWAYS stick to you. From their encouraging words, I had a great recovery and did not have deal with ulcerative colitis the rest of my life. Also my family has encouraged me to get good grades and always try my ultimate best. My family is the one that will never stop you from laughing. They always have cheesy jokes and stories from their works. One major item they support is dance. I have been dancing for about 7 yrs and I am really compassionate about it. I do Bollywood and hip pop. My parents know how much it means to me bringing me to dance practice even though their job at work doesn’t end until 10 min before the practice starts. I am so graciously blessed to have parents that adjust to their shifts at work to bring me to dance practice. A lot of fellow peers didn’t have families that come to every dance show, but my family was there for every single one and cheering me on even though I make big mistakes on stage.
