Volleyball has always been interesting to me. Since I was a baby, we’d take family trips to California and I’ve been amazed by the beach volleyball players. Even though school was important, volleyball was too. A new teacher came that year and ended up being our volleyball coach. Granting she was such a friendly teacher, she’s a pretty solemn coach. During the open-gym, where they evaluate players, she was cool to me. When she announced the teams, she pulled me back and told me that I almost made B Team. Of course there’s nothing wrong with B or C team, it’s just that it would’ve been something for people to talk about just because I made A Team the first year. I was destined to get my overhand, spikes, sets, and bumping to perfection. Without a doubt, I have yet to achieve that goal, but I’ve improved enough to not get put down onto B Team. I did get my overhand serves, but they weren’t certain to go over and in. I knew that in high school volleyball, overhand serves were basically required for the coaches to be more open minded when they’re picking teams. Despite the fact that I was pushing myself to meet the expectations for volleyball in ninth grade, I still had a team to work with and play with. I was surprised on how many girls from seventh grade didn’t play in eighth grade so I had to make new friends and build new bonds with the girls who wasn’t on the same team as me
