Personal Narrative: Watergirl
One day, I was playing with my best friend, Watergirl. She has beautiful green eyes, long hair and a blue body. e were playing in the jungle together but we were caught by some humans. They used a hood to cover our eyes and they put us into a cage. I couldn’t know where I was going. I just heard the truck rolling on the road. When I could see I was locked in a small dark cell.I needed to escape to find her, but how?

Suddenly, I saw a guard pass by through a crack in the cage and I saw the key to get out of this cell. I tried to talk to him and I said, “Hey, Guard, could you please pass me some food, I’m almost dying.”He glanced at me, grabbed a piece of/some moldy bread from the table across the hallway. As he walked in front of me: ‘FIRE PUNCH!’’I punched his face and his teeth flew out. He was lying down on the ground and I got the keys!

I thought the water belonged to Watergirl, and the water lead me to find the cell where she was imprisoned. Now that I had found her, we needed to escape but I thought we were lost in the maze. We needed to find the way out, but waiting for us was only despair because in here there was only magma, swamp, water, lever mechanisms and a whole maze completely locked dead,. I saw a mossy room, I heard the rain dripping down and the sound made us have the desire to survive. I smelled the rotting bodies of people who tried to escape but couldn’t. It seemed like we were under a rainforest Lucky for us, there was a way out. I could pass through the lava, and she could pass through the water. It was absolute teamwork, I almost died in the swamp, but Watergirl helped me out. If we missed ONE STEP, we would have

The University of California, Merced’s Men’s Basketball team was so enthusiastic, as well as full of energy that humid Saturday morning as they prepared for an extraordinary adventure at Lake Yosemite. Each player greets Dr. Boggs, also thanking him for taking his time off from work in the health center to take them to the lake. Dr. Boggs, feeling warm-hearted and comforted, appreciated the well-mannered basketball players and cannot wait to get out in the lake. “I have brought my boat out here today so you guys can get the full lake experience, but I need to go over some safety procedures. I also need to explain to you all what exactly we will be doing today.”-Dr. Boggs.…

"Before death I hope to obtain life." This quote reminds me of my Michigan Hero Danielle Nash. Danielle was my cousin who was diagnosed with stage four Melanoma and Brain Cancer at age 26. Before cancer, she opened her own Day Care/ Preschool in Whitehall called Bright Futures, she was only 21. She also started the first Middle School Competitive Cheerleading Team in Reeths Puffer and was also the head coach of the Varsity Reeths Puffer Competitive Cheerleading team. She lived in the Whitehall area her whole life, and had a husband named Jake and two kids, Brady who is now four and Addisyn who is two. Danielle did so much for her community, and impacted my life and so many others, and even though she isn't with us anymore she is still my Michigan…

You have prepared yourself for this race all morning.” “Just take your position and breathe.” “Why is my heart pounding like this?” “Inhale and exhale.” This is normal for UWA freshman Sarah McMillion on race day. We were ready. Paddles in hand, canoe by our side, personal floatation devices, knee pads, and cameras. The afternoon sun shined on the lake, reflecting it across the calm waters. Crowds of people were enjoying their Sunday afternoon on North Beach at Devil’s Lake State Park. Young children stumbled on the moist sand and shallow waters as they tried to catch tadpoles with their small buckets. Soothing, a gentle breeze passed by as we walked towards the edge of Devil’s Lake. Marveling at the majestic mountain of cedars around the lake and smelling the damp sand, my dad, little sister, and I were all set to take on our first wilderness inquiry; canoeing across a lake. It was safe to say that we were in for an exciting adventure…

One time when I challenged my own beliefs, I questioned my own skills. It was one of the most crushing and confusing moments of my life. I was indecisive, hesitant, and most certainly doubtful. I couldn’t even imagine myself, an inexperienced sophomore, working in a career major that I’ve never even thought of doing in the first place.…

These lollisticks had been ice-lollies from the store and I washed them in the kitchen myself with ‘Bristling Shine’ washing-up liquid under a warm tap(I have no way to tell the temperature) pouring at forty percent capacity( I measured this the day before I was standing near the rectangle of brown earth. I used my Transformers lunch box to hold the water. First I held the lunch box under a switched off hot tap so that I could tell that the tap did switch off and that there were no drips even though the tap had been switched off. Next I wrote the time(11.23 and 43 seconds) on a sheet of lined school paper with a burgundy coloured crayon. As soon as I saw the time I turned the tap on full and watched how long the tap water took to fill the lunch…

You turn the faucet's handle, and a thick black liquid comes pooling out. You later discover that the black ooze, was due to the dead body of a college student found in the water tanks. This poor college student is none other than Elisa Lam. Elisa Lam vanished on January 31, 2013 and was found a month later inside the water tanks on top of the Cecil Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. After giving the pile of old tree limbs she was pointing at a good second stare I saw it. There was a roof slightly sticking up from a mass of brush. I had lived right up the hill from this location for 9 years and had been down to the camp dozens of times, but never have I ever noticed this small roof that was roughly 100 meters away from the camp. We sprinted on through the scraggly brush, being pulled back on by plenty of branches and jumping over small creeks. Tumbling, jerking, and fleeing was pulling everyone back, but yet was pushing everyone forward. We stopped dead in our tracks after what felt like hours of sprinting and adjusted to the spontaneous sight that was in front of us, sending my eyes into…

I woke up hazed with blurred vision. The right side of my face was dried and burned. The left side of my face was soaked in salt water and blood. I was freaked out and picked up my head and blinked rapidly. I saw nothing but blue for miles and miles, the sky and the water. When I looked down I saw nothing but a small black and orange rubber dingy. I tried to think about what had happened. It was then when I realized I couldn't even remember my own name. Then panic just settled in for some reason I jumped in the water freaking out. I came to my senses and quickly started using all my strength to hurdle myself in the dingy.…
