Personal Statement
I am currently in Year eleven at Carr Manor Community School and I have attended since 2010. In school I am now studying hard for my GCSE exams from May until July next year. I am a hardworking, independent individual that is very driven towards reaching her goals. I would like to follow the career path of midwifery and to do this I need to study double Health and Social care, Biology and English.
In school the subjects I most enjoy are English, Science, RE and History. I enjoy these subjects because they are very interesting and there is a lot of study involved with them. I am a very committed and diligent person. In these lessons they often include working in a team and individually; I am a team player and I also work well as an individual.
I have participated in some extra curriculum activities such as netball and I have been a sports ambassador and i have also helped coordinate whole school events such as sports days and house competitions. This has helped me improve my organisation and leadership skills which ultimately will help me arrange other functions and events in the future.
One of my proudest achievements is volunteering to gain work experience in a legal firm named Capsticks Solicitors. The work experience made me become more confident and gain more skills within everyday jobs. During work experience I gained basic phone manners, formal language, eye contact and it gave me a glimpse into adult life. The four week placement enhanced my independent skills which was convenient for interviews and work life. When I had completed this extracurricular course I received a certificate of achievement.
Another of my proudest achievements would be when as part of a small group, participated in a sporting program involving the primary phase, we led a P.E session for the children in year one. From this I gained confidence and I feel that this made me become more sociable. During this session I was a team leader and It has made me more confident In the things
