Personal Statement: A Career As A Career Coach
For the majority of my adult life I’ve tried to do things that help people. Sometimes that meant helping someone improve the content and appearance of their resume; passing along newly discovered information related to health or other issues, or being a reference for someone seeking a new job. Whatever the situation, my passion has always been to help people improve their lives. That is why I decided to become a Coach.

I discovered that becoming a Professional and Career Coach would allow me to help people on a much larger scale and more strategic way. Being a Coach allows me to use my education, training and nearly 40 years of work experience in a way that will best benefit my clients.

I love what I do…I help people face challenges

My career goal is to have the ability to encourage, motivate, inspire, and stamp the lives of young teenagers. I chose to go into the career cluster of Education and Training. My career goal is to be a High School teacher and an Athletic Coach. I want to be considered one of the “cool teachers” that all the students go to with the school gossip and personal problems, but at the same time I want to be a teacher/coach that takes things seriously. I believe I would be successful pursuing teaching and coaching due to the fact they both share my interest of working with kids and being in charge. I also tend to believe with my grandmother and my mother also being teachers, it influenced my decision because…

They say that everything happens for a reason. Every person that comes into our life and leaves a mark on it, stays there on a long term for a reason. Some people become our work mates, others our friends, or teachers, and very few of them turn into our mentors. A mentor is a person that, by age, is more knowledgeable, has more experience and can guide with his advice a person who is willing to absorb his wisdom. From this point of view, a mentor goes far beyond the professional coaching, becoming a support in different life aspects of the person he's mentoring.…

As part of a team, I want to add value and continue to grow the company. My long term goals is to leave legacy and be the asset of that…

After Graduate School, I hope to have my PhD in psychology or my doctorate in psychiatry. I would like to start out working in jails, talking to criminals and analyzing their brains versus the brain of an average adult to study how the brain reacts with criminal activity and why they do and feel what they do. I have heard that a person can not do that type of work for very long because it is emotionally tasking so after that, I would like to open my own counseling practice up. I would do either marriage and family therapy or focus on teenage depression. Eventually, I would like to retire into school psychology or become a psychology teacher. Also, if I ever have enough money, I will buy a house devoted to taking in stray animals…

From an early age I have enjoyed playing and watching sports. So when my dad took me to the Kansas University football game where my uncle was the athletic trainer I became very interested in what the job was all about. I chose an athletic trainer because I have always have had a love for sports and an interest in the medical field and this career has a great combination of both of those things. After researching and learning about the career I am sure that an athletic trainer is the right career for me.…
