I am a hard-working, responsible and friendly individual with a strong desire to teach, which I believe are some of the key qualities required to be a teacher. In addition a good teacher needs to be patient, especially if a child is having trouble understanding a task, as alternative techniques must be explored to suit each child. Every child is unique and I think it is important to recognise this, as some will need more guidance and scaffolding than others. In these lessons I realised that every child has their own preferred way of learning and I found that some children benefitted more when they had one on one time with a teaching assistant, as it provided them with an opportunity to be listened to directly and for the assistant to pace the learning at their level.
