Personal Statement: My Work Experience In Computer And Technology
I had developed a fascination towards science at an early age and have always been driven by scientific curiosity. As a kid, I had experimented with everyday objects and tried science-experiment books to satiate my curiosity. During high school, I had won a free computer learning course as a prize in a state-level talent search examination. Studying in a government school, otherwise, I was not introduced to computers till higher classes. That opportunity had, however, ignited my curiosity towards computers and technology, after which there was no turning back. I started to regularly visit a neighbor who owned a computer shop in order to acquaint myself with and increase my knowledge of computers. Both the prospect of learning this fascinating …show more content…
I later on decided to join Accenture as an Associate Software Engineer as it had a greater global footprint and a greater reputation as a career enhancing employer. My work experience at Accenture helped me gain knowledge on Enterprise resource planning (ERP) concepts, SAP ABAP programming and the various stages of software development. I underwent intensive training for project handling. Subsequently, I worked for the client, ABInbev, and completed a project on developing and maintaining their ERP system. I worked in two teams, in one as a Release coordinator and in the other as an ABAP developer. It turned out to be a great starting point, as I learned how to work under pressure and resolve issues in limited time. I contributed significantly to the organization by preparing Key Performance Indicator Reports, coordinating the weekly and monthly releases and also reviewing and debugging ABAP …show more content…
My experiences with various programming languages, robotics and my zeal for learning will help me in this field. As a long-term goal, I envision myself opening a startup company with innovative products related to Human Computer Interaction in my home state so that I can improve the IT scenario there and generate jobs for the underprivileged but talented workforce. I believe I have reasons to be confident about my pursuing higher studies in the field of computer science and I foresee innovative ventures and research in this field as an important part of my future.
I have chosen University of Southern California as the destination for my graduate studies after carefully going through the department’s brochures and research. I have been highly inspired by the work done by Prof. Ramakant Nevatia on Artificial intelligence. His ongoing research on machine intelligence grabbed my attention, especially after reading his publication titled ‘Segmentation and Tracking of Multiple Humans in Crowded Environments’. I am particularly interested in researching and contributing to the Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Systems (IRIS) under the apprenticeship of your esteemed

When I became interested in computer science, one of the areas that intrigued me the most was that of Artificial Intelligence (AI). AI was futuristic back when I first attended college and the ideas that surrounded it seemed unattainable and unrealistic. Today the development of AI has been achieved and continues to grow and expand into new uses.…

After Graduate School, I hope to have my PhD in psychology or my doctorate in psychiatry. I would like to start out working in jails, talking to criminals and analyzing their brains versus the brain of an average adult to study how the brain reacts with criminal activity and why they do and feel what they do. I have heard that a person can not do that type of work for very long because it is emotionally tasking so after that, I would like to open my own counseling practice up. I would do either marriage and family therapy or focus on teenage depression. Eventually, I would like to retire into school psychology or become a psychology teacher. Also, if I ever have enough money, I will buy a house devoted to taking in stray animals…

Personally when I read a written report I judge the level of intelligence of the person or persons writing the report based solely off their ability to use proper grammar and spelling. I have a higher respect for those that can communicate clearly and precisely through written and verbal communication and feel others have the same view. The importance of a clear and precise written or verbal communication does not stop there. There are possible ill effects to the patient if an order is not communicated properly. Wrong medications, dosages, or treatments could be rendered causing a worsening of a condition, irreversible effects, or…

Back in 1986, when I was in eighth grade; my first experience with computers was horrible. We would sit in class and enter line after line of code; which made as much sense to me as typing in a foreign language. I was typing in letters and numbers, but had no idea what they meant. Hours were spent this way; so at the end of the exercise I could hit ”enter” and see some lines flash across the screen over and over. By the time I was finished with eighth grade I never wanted to see another computer ever again. Unfortunately the following year in high school I had to take a computer course. It was more of the same; a bunch of codes and “mumbo-jumbo” that had no meaning to me what so ever. I struggled through…

I never actually attended UConn as a degree student. Although it is true that I enrolled late in the summer of 2009, it was only for the briefest amount of time. I enrolled late at UConn because unforeseen financial issues in my family made attending the other schools I was accepted into a terrible idea. However, quickly after enrolling I came to the realization that I had no concise plan of action towards a specific degree. I was enrolled in a mishmash of different classes that did not take me towards any direction. Therefore, I decided to drop the courses I was enrolled in, and instead work full time and save money to pay for college on my own. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to me, some kind of error must have occurred in this process. I thought…

With a pair of binoculars, a magnifying glass, and a notepad, one of the most exhilarating parts of my childhood was rushing outside into my backyard and watching for hours on end spiders spinning delicate webs, birds feeding their young, the interactions within a decaying tree stump ecosystem, and countless of other animals going about their lives. I would often sit absolutely still, quietly sketching what I observed, and constantly wondering why things were the way they were and how. This curiosity and growing interest for how things in the world simply function and how I can use that knowledge to solve problems prevalent today to make a change eventually led to my passion for science, technology, and mathematics fields and partially my success…
